SPURRIER CAN'T HIDE GLEE (http://www.gatorsports.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070404/GATORS02/704040371)

Gator fans were still buzzing about the basketball team's back-to-back-to-back national titles in basketball and football Tuesday morning.

That includes the one in Columbia, S.C., who was getting ready to tee it up when he called both Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley and basketball coach Billy Donovan (http://www.gatorsports.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?template=wiki&text=Billy_Donovan) to offer his congratulations.

"That's an amazing basketball team," said South Carolina (http://www.gatorsports.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?template=wiki&text=University_of_South_Carolina) coach Steve Spurrier (http://www.gatorsports.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?template=wiki&text=Steve_Spurrier) in a cell phone call to The Sun. "Billy has done an unbelievable job with them."

The former UF (http://www.gatorsports.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?template=wiki&text=Florida_Gators) ball coach slipped in a "we" when twisting the knife into Ohio State, which lost both the football and basketball championships to Florida.

"We've kind of turned Ohio State into Runner-up U., haven't we?" said Spurrier, a Gator alumnus.

Being an alumn of UF, I belileve he has the right to use "we" when talking about the Gators beating the Buckeyes for a Football and Basketball NC, and a regular season B-Ball game. Not that the use of the word "we" was being debated or anything of the sort, but good for CSS for supporting his alma mater.

I wonder how Urban Meyer feels about OSU lossing to UF 3 times in two sports where he coaches (UF) against his old alma mater?

Well, he only got his master's there; but, I'd say, judging from the score, not too bad. He did let up on them when we had the ball at the 7 yard line at the end of the game, though. If it'd been Spurrier, you better believe he would have punched it in, again.
