It turns out I may have been premature in my opinion of the ongoing Donovan saga. Apparently, according to reports from an inside source at a supermarket in Lexington, a bag-boy swears he saw Donovan buying some really strong coffee there late last night. The speculation is that he needed the caffeine for some marathon negotiations. Between yesterday (when UF President, Machen told reporters there hadn't been any offers or counter-offers) and today, Donovan has gotten a job offer from UK, discussed it with his family and friends, told UF about it, told his players, gotten a counter-offer from UF, discussed that with family and friends, made a decision to leave, informed UF, informed his players, informed UK, and is now poised to go to Kentucky. Asked why he would do all that while his team is in Gainesville preparing for the Final Four, and a chance to make NCAA history by repeating as National Champions, Donovan replied, " I wouldn't."

The only difference is.......hot seat or not......when your coach bolts for Minnennennennesota, you have no room to boast about how great your program is.

It was a lot of fun. The only problem is that there just aren't as many Kentucky folks to give a hard time.

They're all at church, praying Billy D comes to Lexington.

They're going to need more than church. And, after the way they treated Tubby, I'm not sure God would listen, anyway.

I think its funny that the majority of the Bill D to UK threads on this board are started by UF fans

Another quote from Donovan...per ESPN
"I'm not being coy or moving around questions," Donovan said as reporters from the Bluegrass State dogged him on the Kentucky question. "I haven't spoken to anybody and my intentions are to speak to the University of Florida. I'm happy there. I like the school and the athletic department has been very supportive."
Looks like hes in no hurry to announce his decision.
Heres the linkage ESPN.com - NCB - Donovan on Kentucky: Nothing to talk about (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2823934)
