The reason these royal Marines were takens is simple. Iran (and most of the middle east) do not respect the West. The thinking in that part of the world dictates that only strength should be respected. Time and again we in the west have missed chances to show them true strength after an attack. Iran knows that there will be "talks" and maybe even "sanctions". They laugh at such pitiful gestures. Until the West (U.S. & U.K.) wake up and decide that decisive action is the only way to get through to these people, we will remain in a constant state of conflict with the Middle East. They will never like nor love us. We are wasting our time with efforts in trying to win hearts & minds. We are infidels in their eyes and unless everyone in the world bows down to their "allah" we will always be no more than that. Once we finally come to the realization that we cannot alow the status quo to continue, the answer to our trouble will become clear. We must show Iran and all the other idiots out there that if they continue on the current path it will only lead to desolation. To sum up my rant... Let them hate, so long as they fear.

Its high time we turn Iran into the world's largest parking lot. Isreal is chomping at the bit and I say we give them the green light to push a couple of buttons. The war in Iraq is, in my opinion, the only reason an American flag isnt flying in Tehran right now. I think we should give all illegal immigrants a canteen and a rifle and send them over there to fight. Provide them with food and shelter, but don't pay them. Their pay is to become a US citizen after their tour is up. Do the same thing with prisoners. That might make them think twice before robbbing the liquor store.

I like those new "smart" bombs and all, but I think we should sent about 1000 of those big bombers (I'm not sure what you call them...maybe B52) and carpet bomb the whole country. It may be cruel, but it would send a message. Right now everyone stays away from the 'targets', but if you turned the whole town into a pile of dust and clay it might have a better effect. That would be the Gov't leaders over there. The ppl our age(in their 20s) want to be westernized and drink and party just like we do. Take a look back at old footage of Tehran in the 60s and 70s before the Revolution and you'll see the sort of culture over there that was pretty liberal compared to where they are today.

I guess you're just trying to make an anology with the drugs thing(which isnt working) because most people in prison are in for drug charges. The war on drugs is a complete and total failure which cost this country billions of dollars each year....but thats a whole other thread altogether.


Plus America holds plenty of prisoners captive without trial, representation, or evidence....thats what Iran is doing. Do I think what Iran is doing is right? Hell no. Do I think they need to be handled? Hell yes. Do I think the proper way to do that is to bomb cities with millions of people in them leaving the civilian death toll in the hundreds of thousands? HELL NO. Say we are holding plenty of Saudi Arabian citizens in prisons while not charging them with anything....does that mean Saudi Arabia can bomb the hell out of our cities? According to your logic apparently the answer is yes.

Of course he's crazy as a loon. He's been preparing his country for the return of his saviour for quite some time. Few things are more dangerous than someone who believes they are fighting with God on their side. This is especially true when someone with these beliefs rises to a position of power.
