LSU 77 UNC Asheville 39

I was sure hoping the Lady Tigers would come out and play with an attitude, and they did! They were so dominate, ESPN moved on to another game in the first half. The score could have been a lot worse had Starkey not called them off early. I don't think anyone should count these ladies out of it.

LSU Sports Information Department
Third-seeded LSU forced 25 turnovers and held No. 14-seeded UNC Asheville to 27-percent shooting, as the Lady Tigers advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, 77-39, late Saturday.

LSU (27-7) improved to 10-2 in NCAA first-round games -- including nine-straight -- and 29-16 in tournament history, while UNC Asheville (21-12) lost in its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Fr., Guard, Kyla Jones of UNC on LSU’s shooting: "We did not expect them to shoot the ball as well as they did, but they hit shots and we had to adjust, and the adjustments didn’t work. Their shots were just amazing tonight. [With our] hands in their faces, they were still shooting, knocking them down."

The Lady Tigers will face No. 11-seeded West Virginia in the second round on Monday evening at 8:30 p.m. CT. The winner advances to the Sweet 16 next Saturday in Fresno, Calif.

Wow, I think I read it was like 70-20 at one point in the second half.
