Wow! That's just creepy!
You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
Live in ATL, born in southern Indiana, grew up in Alabama, but whole family is from either SW Mo. or northeastern Ky.
Now if they can guess my weight and social security # from all of that then I will be really impressed.

Your Result: The West
Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.
I've never been west of Atlanta, but considering my parents are from Boston and the Bronx and I was born and raised in SC it shouldn't be too surprising it's all balanced out for no accent.

That's a Southern accent you've got there. You may love it, you may hate it, you may swear you don't have it, but whatever the case, we can hear it.

I'm sure I have some sort of accent but I really don't know how to define it. I've never had a Southerner tell me I had a Southern accent nor have I had a Bostonian tell me I have a Southern accent. I've certainly never had anyone tell me I have a Boston accent either.
Really the only word that tends to give it away one way or another is "aunt." The way I say it, it rhymes with "flaunt" rather than "ant," which seems to be the norm down here.

I've lived all over this country and can say for a fact that people will pick up the local dialect of where they live. It's hard to completely fade a southern accent when you move, but it morphs into a sort of hybrid with the locals. After living in New Orleans for only a few years, I was in a taxi in Seattle and the cab driver told 4 of us that he only knew for certain that I was from New Orleans. It's not intended, it just happens. So it stands to reason that a southern accent isn't about IQ, it's about familiarity and habit.

Your Result: The Northeast
Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.
huh.....I was born and raised in South Carolina....when I listen to myself on answering machines, I definitely hear the southern accent. But then again, I was an english major, so maybe I know what the pronunciation of the words on the quiz sound like.

Of course, some of those words I sometimes slip up and sounds like a hick on but I will generally slap myself when those come out.
