All the " higher ups " are saying the reason baller's ban stays is they took a poll and thats the way it is. Thats fine and I'll abide by it. The integrity of this site is more important to you and thats great. My question is why would you let flamers and trolls do their bidding on here and not kick their sorry azzes off here also. I don't have to mention names because everyone on here knows who it is. Its gets a little tiring coming in here and seeing the same old crap back and forth when I come here to read about sports. You could say to just ignore them but if you didn't like baller's remarks we could have just ignored him also. Thanks.

I think there's an option on this board that if you don't like what a person is posting, there is an ignore option that whoever you select, their posts cannot be seen. I know a couple people did that when a Gamecock member annoyed them.

unfortunately, the ignore feature does not hide their posts when someone else - who's not ignored - quotes their comments in their post. It's especially hard to continue ignoring a poster when you see from time to time in their quoted comments that the poster is continuing to post negative comments about you....hard to just allow it to go on unchecked. But yeah, if it's just general, non-personal flaming, the ignore feature works pretty well.....

Baller's ban goes beyond trolling. You know this....and I don't know why we're still talking about this. So, to compare that to the little spats that flare up from time to time isn't a fair comparison. And they must be little flare-ups because I think we do a pretty good job of responding to reported posts. So, if people have problems, they aren't letting anyone know about them....and in that case, how serious or disruptive can they be?

I keep reading these posts about how horrible it has been around here, with all of this fighting, etc -- and, of course, these posts are sprinkled in between those who say how great it is around here.

What would you like us to do? Ban everyone who ever gets into it with another poster? There would be none of us left.

If you have legit problems with specific posters, PM me. Otherwise, send Chris a PM with your suggestions regarding an update to the TOS. That's about all I can suggest for now.
