Several sources are saying that reserve lineman Seth Watts is no longer on the team. I don't have a subscription to Rivals, so I don't have details. However, David Ching (writer for the Macon L/E posted the info on his blog here (http://ching-athens.blogspot.com/2007/03/richt-postpractice-comments.html) and dawgbone.net reports the same thing.
Now that leaves TWO return offensive linemen who have played a down at Georgia. Those JUCO boys better be good.

Definitely could be a big area of concern for the Dawgs next fall.

Wow. I had no idea the OL situation was that bad at UGA. Y'all got a good one in Vance. I'm sure several of the other guys will pan out, too.

Seth Watts never started a game in his career at UGA. It would be good to have another abled body on the roster...but losing him, if he has indeed quit, will not be the end of the world.

True stuff. While we obviously will be lacking in experience on the line, losing him is not going to do that much damage.

I'm sorry but we've got enough bodies and Callaway is gone. I'm not as worried as I was last year.

Nope, I agree. Watts didn't do much on the field when he was there. He had numerous penalties and cost us a safety in one game I believe against MSU. I think he saw the writing on the wall personally. We finally have some depth and players who can play. IT sounds like we have a good coach as well to get them ready.

I hope you guys are right. Watts wasn't exactly Dan Inman (and I mean that as a compliment). But he did have experience, something that most everyone agrees is crucial on the O-line. It's why freshman can rarely step in and start playing. No offense to Haverkamp and Vance, but Butler and GMC are hardly SEC caliber teams.
I'm not picking a fight, I just would have liked to have had all the experience possible, if for no other reasons than to push the new guys. I'll feel better when Searels comes out in early April and says, "Vance is a beast and Chris Davis is the MAN!!" (a doubtful utterance).
