Katzer is an idiot. Just trying to stir something up.
How many guys has Spurrier kicked off the team? How many have been benched? How many games did Mitchell sit out last year? To take one situation at UGA and compare it to one situation at USC is not a fair way of presenting how coaches control their players.
Both Richt and Spurrier are quality coaches and quality men. No need for articles like this that show an obvious bias against someone.

YOU think guys shouldn't post articles that show bias? That's rich. Only biased articles favoring Spurrier are allowed, huh?

Yes, It probably would have been much better if he suspended a kid who is probably going to redshirt anyway.

I don't even agree with the thought. I just couldn't believe Pepper called someone out for posting biased subject matter.
EDIT: While I don't think that's a typical Spurrier move, I was amazed the kid was back on the team a day after there were supposed to be serious penalties for a serious infraction.

Taking into account that Spurrier has booted in the neighborhood of 30 players for various reasons since he took over, most of which were Holtz holdovers, this FANBLOG (not an article) is the very definition of drivel.
I mean seriously, I could write a blog claiming that I have whatever evidence I want that shows Urban Meyer practices negative recruiting tactics frequently and compare him to the likes of Tommy Bowden or Charlie Weis in that category but it doesn't make it true.
Seeing as this is a FAN BLOG (not even a very well done one at that), doesn't this belong in the Trash Talk section?

I've read on a couple other USC sites that the reasons Garcia was reinstated so quickly were for the most part, two-fold. 1) His side of the story, backed up by more than a few people, was vastly different than what was reported and, 2) you can't run a player if he's suspended.

I have to agree with the Gamecocks on this one. I read that guy's blog from time to time. It's a fan blog. I enjoy it BECAUSE it has a UGA slant. But this guy must not have been around when Spurrier first got to USC and cleaned house (at the risk of alienating a LOT of fans/high school coaches/recruits).
I was surprised that he didn't suspend him on the spot, but who's to say that he won't make Garcia regret the whole incident. Even if that punishment is not made public. I still hate the Ole Ball Coach, but he's never been lax on discipline.

I'm not sure who Wayz is arguing with. I agreed with the SC fans, too. All I said is one day CSS was going to clean this kid's clock, and the next day he was back on the team. And each of my posts say that is not usually like Spurrier; and it's not. I don't make any deductions about why he did it. I don't have enough information. BTW, neither does anyone else posting here. We've all read the same articles, and unless one of you was in Spurrier's office when he had his discussion with Garcia, that's all any of us can rely on. On that note, it's not just a fan blog that states UGA suspended a player for underage drinking. That's a fact. There may be more to it than that, but they did suspend the kid. And, it's not a fan blog that stated Garcia was drinking, and that he's under age. That is a fact. Again, there's more to it than just that. Spurrier was satisfied with Garcia's explanation, and that's his prerogative. But, the facts are, that both kids are under age, and were drinking. One kid is suspended and one isn't. I'm sure this fan blog guy is just a Spurrier hater and wants to make it sound worse than it actually is. The SC guys better get used to that, because UGA fans have been calling Spurrier "Satan" since about 1993. Personally, of course I like Spurrier; and I think UGA has gone way overboard on underage drinking. But, I'm looking at the situation from a neutral standpoint. I hate UGA and USC equally. You guys have a little more vested in the situation than I do.

Done.
To be honest, I too thought this move by the OBC was a little "out of character". This is the same coach that suspended Rex Grossman for the 1st quarter of a BCS Bowl for being 15 minutes late for curfew. I highly doubt this decision was based on anything other than the fact that Spurs wants to run the crap out of Garcia during the Spring...and let's face it, the kid is right out of HS...I'm sure most of us here done waaayyyy worse things than this...we just didn't get caught...;)

Some teams suspend players for only one game - even if they are caught with weapons & drugs.

I wasn't really disagreeing with you - I was calling out thethird, who flamed, I mean, posted this.
To be honest, Richt didn't suspend Hebron for two games. University policy mandates that he be suspended for 10% of the season (or 1.2 games). I'm assuming that is not the case with USC, otherwise Garcia would be automatically suspended too. My point was that I disagree with the idea that Spurrier is soft on discipline. I think you were too.
Also, I never said that Spurrier was Satan. I maintain that he's the SON of Satan.
Now can I get back to hating on the Gamecocks?

Understood. By all means, carry on. I'd never be so bold as to stand in the way of a good hate-fest.
