Alright we're finally down to the last game of the season and most would have thought that the west standings would be a little bit clearer by now but as we all should have known, they are just as jumbled as they were last week. So here's the question. Who is going to win the west? Mississippi State, Alabama, Ole Miss, or even Auburn if things go right. When I say win the west I mean get the 1 seed, because no one will win it outright.
Breakdown...(brought to you by secsports.com)
Mississippi State (7-8) can secure the West No. 1 seed and a share of the West Division title with a win versus Alabama.
If Mississippi State and Ole Miss are tied at 8-8...........
Mississippi State would earn the West No. 1 seed due to their 7-3 division record compared to Ole Miss' 6-4 mark.
Ole Miss would be the West No. 2 seed and earn a share of the West Division title with a first-round bye
If Mississippi State and Auburn are tied at 8-8...........
Mississippi State would earn the West No. 1 seed due to their season sweep over Auburn.
Auburn would be the West No. 2 seed and earn a share of the West Division title with a first-round bye
Ole Miss (7-8) can secure the West No. 1 seed and a share of the West Division title with a win versus Auburn coupled with a Mississippi State loss.
If Alabama and Ole Miss are tied at 8-8...........
Ole Miss would earn the West No. 1 seed due to their 6-4 division record compared to Alabama's 5-5 mark.
Alabama would be the West No. 2 seed and earn a share of the West Division title with a first-round bye
Auburn (7-8) can secure the West No. 1 seed and a share of the West Division title with a win at Ole Miss coupled with a Mississippi State loss.
If Alabama and Auburn are tied at 8-8...........
Auburn would earn the West No. 1 seed due to their season sweep over Alabama.
Alabama would be the West No. 2 seed and earn a share of the West Division title with a first-round bye
Alabama (7-8) will earn the West No. 2 seed and a share of the West Division title with a win at Mississippi State.
