Motley Fool looks at B.R. casino market
Pinnacle Entertainment's plans to enter the Baton Rouge casino market has garnered the attention of the Motley Fool, which analyzes what a new riverboat would do for the area. An analyst says the Baton Rouge casino market "isn't any good because nobody bothered to invest in it" and says Pinnacle's River Road resort would boost the number of visitors. Analysts suggest Pinnacle could use its L'Auberge du Lac and Sugarcane Bay casinos in Lake Charles to drive gamblers to Baton Rouge by offering them hotel rooms and meals. Because of the opportunity for growth, analysts predict Baton Rouge voters will approve the third casino, even if it could put the Belle of Baton Rouge out of business.
