This makes 2 times that a #1 team has been beaten in only a 4 day span. MSU upset the #1 Badgers last night in East Lansing by a score of 64-55.
All the more reason Florida needs this game against USC tonight. If we win the next two games, we could be looking at a #1 ranking again by early next week. #2 OSU and #1 Wisconsin face off this Sunday at OSU.

Ohio State WILL win the game vs. Wisconsin this weekend and we WILL be the unanimous #1.

LOL. We shall see. I don't agree with OSU being ranked ahead of UF but....... It does not matter all that much in basketball. As long as your in the big dance you have a shot at a national title. I just want UF to be a #1 seed is all.

The big ten is kinda strange this year basketball wise. The usual suspects arent really there. Michigan State and Illinois arent playing like the used to. Wisconsin and OSU are atop the division and the national rankings!

Is this game home or away for you guys? I'm just not buying into the hype surrounding OSU right now. When Alabama plays a better game @UF then your team does, well... I'll just let you marinate on that and draw your own conclusions.

Besides, you guys screwed my brackets up last year. I hold a grudge.

Hey, I was just joking by the way. The only way tOSU is ranked that high is because the only teams we lost to are all in the top 5 nationally. UNC, UF, Wisc. The game vs. Wisconsin is at Columbus this weekend. I know Wisconsin will be fired up after their beat down last night at MSU. MSU is a good team but they are not ranked. The Big 10 in basketball is kind of like the SEC in football where just about all of our entire conference is really good and any given team can beat any other team on any given night. Actually right now, the ESPN bracketology guy has Florida and tOSU in the same bracket right now with Florida being the #1 seed and tOSU being the #2 seed. Rankings don't really mean anything when it comes to the "Big Dance" because there are always a few cinderella teams each year that knock off higher seeded teams. I think that there will be at least 3 Big Ten teams in the elite 8, IMHO.

3?

2, yes.

But who else do you think will make it that far?

Most likely: tOSU and Wisconsin
Dark Horse: Indiana, Mich St., or Purdue

I figure that if OSU and Wisconsin make #1 seeds than they could join Ind. in the elite 8.

If you go to the Bracketology link in my above post, tOSU and Florida are in the same region right now according to ESPN.

I think that if you guys beat Wisconsin the you should be a #1 seed with Wisconsin as a #2 seed. I think that you have a point from one of your posts a while back. The NCAA will probably do what it can to get a UF/ OSU rematch.
If Wisconsin beats you guys this sunday then what are the odds that we will be #1 and #2 seeds in the same region?
Personally, I think if we were both #1 seeds we would have a good shot at meeting in the final 4.

I agree. I think that every sports writer, voter, etc.. will campaign for tOSU and Florida to have a rematch and probably put them in a region together with a bunch of cheese teams so that their is a good chance. I really want to have a rematch with you guys but if we are in 2 different regions, those odds could be shot to hell with the possibility of getting knocked off. The media would have a hard on hey day if we would rematch and they would be playing the "revenge" fiddle to death. According to that link, the bracket that tOSU and UF are in is pretty lame other than Texas. I think Texas is a real sleeper team and could end up being last years LSU. JMHO

Ive watched OSU mature around Greg Oden. They seem to be a different team than when we played them back in December. OSU is just as beatable now as they were back then but you guys seem to be shooting better around Oden now. We have both proved were beatable. Vanderbilt showed us up last weekend with their shooting percentage and I saw where OSU had a 41-19 lead on Penn Sate around half time and Penn State came all the way back to make it a 64-62 final score.
I am worried about a sleeper team out there who could give us fits in the tourney but thats what makes this sport so great. The playing field is very level.

Yeah, they are getting a little better every game. I guess it takes time when you are starting 4 freshmen and 1 senior. I think Oden will stick around at least one more year and we should be even better next year. As it stands right now, we have the #1 recruiting class for next year and the year after that. Unbelievable. I am worried that tOSU will get beat by some crappy team that they are over looking in the tournament. I know we rely too much on the three and it has killed us a few time this year. We did however shoot very well in the North Carolina game without Oden and almost beat team 97 -89.

I don't really care about the #1 ranking. If OSU is #1, then I think everyone gives us props automatically because of the head-to-head.

What I'd really like is a #1 seed going into the tourney.

I think you will get your wish. Even if tOSU is #1 in the country, if they are paired in a region with Florida, Florida will get the #1 seed and tOSU will be a #2 seed because of the head to head matchup earlier in the season.
