laugh at Auburn for not being NC in 2004 but their team was jumped by a one loss Miami Hurricanes in the eleventh week of the season of the AP poll in 2005. That is pure hypocrisy at its greatest.

Wow, I feel totally burned. You really nailed us there. I'm going to go slink off in a corner and hide, for Auburn is so mighty that I am scared.

I will just as soon as there is anything good to post! :joke: Sorry, that one was just too easy to pass up. I usually don't throw my two cents into these "my team is better than your team" arguments. I was just trying to throw in a little humor into this. Things are not as civil between fans of our two legendary teams as I'd like them to be.:chug:

Thats pretty cool. I use to play at Auburn Links a good deal back in the day and wound up playing golf with a girl who was on the Auburn golf team at the time. I am man enough to admit she kicked my tail. She didn't skunk me or anything but I will say it was pretty strange to be out played by a girl.

Auburn was co National Champs in 2004 in my book. I know my book doesn't mean much, hasn't even been published yet, but sometimes teams win NC's when they don't deserve to while others get left in the cold (see Bama '73 and '65 for questionable titles and '45 and '66 for titles they should have won). Tigers went undefeated in the SEC and that should earn at least a share of the title in anyone's book.

I also forgot to mention the Harris Poll ranked Miami over Bammer in 2005 and in the very same week.

LOL @ getting jumped by a one-loss team that late in the season.

You fail to point out though that Miami had just whallopped then #3 Virginia Tech at VT and Bama had just beaten a Mississippi State team 17-0 (both defensive TDs)

But still no one loss team jumped Auburn that late in the season and a one loss team jumped Bammer. It is safe to say if Miami and Bammer finished that season with Miami and Bammer winning out and USC or Texas falling atleast once that Miami would have got the chance to play in that Rose Bowl over Bammer.

I'm having a little trouble believing the golf statement. That news would certainly surprise #1 Florida. Link: Gator Men's Golf News @ Gatorzone.com (http://www.gatorzone.com/story.php?game_id=6231&sport=golfm) OR Link: Golfweek - Men’s college golf - team rankings (http://www.golfweekrankings.com/college/mens1/teamrankings.asp)

EDIT: The only place I can find Bama ranked #1 is from a poll taken back on Nov. 16 of last year. They're not even #1 or #2 in the SEC. The rankings in the second link above are up to date as of yesterday. Bama is #6, and ranked behind both UF and UGA.

Bama has been robbed of more titles than you have to your name. You think a lack of respect for Bama is a newsflash Einstein, they are after all in the "South Eastern Conference". Your views are so "cutting edge" and "insightful", thanks for enlightening us.

Sabear agreed to that rule, remember the idiot was on the rules committee and he said in the end he even agreed to that rule. USC and Oklahoma had struggles with several unranked teams. USC barely beat Oregon State and Stanford. Oklahoma struggled with Oklahoma State and several other teams. Didn't USC play Virginia Tech in the very first game of the season? Yes, didn't it take a shitty call for them to take the momentum to win. Auburn was up 16-0 until three minutes left in the game. That game wasn't close until Auburn started screwing around. USC also struggled with UCLA and Auburn was coming off a huge emotional win over Georgia. The enthusiasm(sp?) wasn't there in that Iron Bowl.

BTW, I would like to think the Bama game had something to do with it. A one TD victory over a unranked team's 3rd string. Be glad, because in '04, AU vs USC= a beatdown of epic proportions and a 12-1 season for the barn.

Auburn-Virginia Tech game wasn't as close as the USC-Virginia Tech game.

The enthusiasm wan't there for Auburn. They just spanked a top five team by over 20 points and came in the Iron Bowl without that intensity the week before. Stuff like that happens all the time.

Virginia Tech wasn't in it until the last three minutes of the game.
USC and Virginia Tech were in a dog fight until the middle of the fourth quarter.

I guess you never watched either of the games.
