The Thrashers' Marian Hossa (center) was presented with the Atlanta Sports Award for Professional Athlete of the Year last night at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Presenting the award were Georgia Tech head football coach Chan Gailey (left) and Cliff Minor of AT&T. The black-tie event recognized 11 award recipients for excellence in athletic achievement in 2006.

I dont follow hockey a great deal, but I am a Thrashers fan.

So good to see him getting some recognition.

I hear ya man. Im new to Hockey. I bought a Thrasher package this year and was very impressed with the whole "game experience."
Really, hockey is just something that gets me by until Braves season. Football and baseball are my favorite sports.

Oh yeah. The fights are awesome! The refs let em go at it for a little while before breaking it up. Watching people getting checked into the glass at full speed is pretty cool. Esp when you can hear a "boom" echo throughout the whole arena.

Ahh Chan Gailey. The nerds, I mean, Atlanta loves him.
Maybe UGA should give him an award for leaving Reggie Ball the starter for all 4 years!:laugh:
Typical mediocre coach IMO. He can recruit well, but cant coach em well.

Because he won't be getting any.:laugh: I like going to the fights and seeing a hockey game break out.:happy:

I hear ya man. Big home coming up next week for the Thrash. Hated rival Carolina comes to town. I dont have tix for this game but im gonna go to the box office and see if I can get a cheap seat. This is the one game where not only the players, but the fans can break out in a fight at the drop of a hat.
