Shug was a great coach considering he had to recruit with 1 hand tied behind his back post-1957 NC. You had Bryant dominating in 'Bama and Vince owning on Georgia so we got what we could. We did well considering the circumstances.

Barfield was bad. Can't get around it, those years in the late 70s were ugly for Auburn.

Dye brought us to new heights and he took the Iron Bowl to Auburn. That was a huge thing.

Bowden, yeah he's mocked and disliked but he proved that you could put an untrained monkey as a 1st year head coach and go undefeated UNDER PROBATION.

And Tubs, this is the best coach we've had. The man knows how to win by operating under a system that gives the assistants and coordinators power in the program. Tubs proves that the CEO Coaching structure works.

AU's recruiting classes get better every year. ALA has signed some talent as well this year but will these new guys make enough to make a true impact next year? I doubt it. Coach Tubb and his staff have been doing this for a while, AU has been having top recruits come to The Plains since he came. AU is a measurement stick for Saban.
