Well, yeah! :laugh: The Big XII North is almost unecessary at times (with the exception of K-State in 2003 and Nebraska in 2001).

On a serious note, feel free to bring as many friends as you want. We're an open community to All SEC fans, as well as other conference fans. The BigXII is no exception.

lol, even though you sucked me in, I have duties to fulfill. Advertising on another group of forums(Dash Network) was not cool. My admin wasn't happy. heh.

He did say that the "talk" group or whatever you guys are, is a good setup though.

But since I have the okay from you all. I'll try to post some decent Big XII stuff. I am kind of apprehensive about doing so because OU is not well recieved in most parts of the nation. And from what I've gathered, the SEC in particular.

Hey, Alabama fans love Oklahoma. For some strange reason, even after OU beat UA in 2002, 2003, the fans do like OU. The series is 2-1-1 with OU in the lead.

Perhaps it's respect, perhaps it's the similarities in the uniforms, tradition, and the rival teams. Face it, Texas is to OU as Tennessee is to Alabama, OKST is to OU as Auburn is to UA. Very much hated by crimson-clad fanbases and they all wear orange. :laugh:

Well Sooner, I am the only Big 10 fan that stuck around here after tOSU ass beating in the NC game. Glad to have you hear in our little minority. Hope you can help me add some great insight about our conferences to these SEC diehards. :thumpsup: BTW, We also make fun of Michigan and Notre Dame alot on here too.

The Gator fans I know like Oklahoma, too. Our defensive coordinator turned out to be a great head coach for you guys. Very few running around grabbing NC's in their first couple of years.:thumpsup: And F$U vs. UF has the same color feud.

But not so much because we won. But because we won after Torrance Marshall gave Chris Weinke a pregame talk about how he wanted his boys(Josh Heupel) trophy and that he was coming to get it.

That was a great game.....and it's the game I really thought about when thinking about our game, as the underdog, against the Nuts. It was the same scenario (from the media persepctive): underdog, serviceable offense totally carried to the title game by a great defense, playing against a supposedly unstoppable attack that was going to wipe us off the field......was f$u a wire-to-wire #1 that year?

That was my model for our game.....we just had much more offense than OU had that night, but I guess with just the safety, you guys had the better defensive night, as tough as that is to imagine (i.e., Smith with 35 yards, etc.).

Dunno, kind of hard to compare the two. Your defense took every option away.

Then again, so did we.

Just for fun, I went back and looked at the national rankings for OU and compared them to this years UF defense. No malice intended, I am just a stat geek.

OU had the #8 defense that year. #23 rushing, #9 passing. #13 SOS (Coincedentally, UF had the toughest that year)

UF this year had the #6 defense. #5 rushing, #33 passing. #1 SOS

From that, UF's was much better.

I feel so ashamed. Though, that was the year we went 6-6. We took them down to the wire. But moral victories suck. :laugh:
