UGA Baseball

So my Beavers will be playing the Bulldogs for a 3 game series on Febuary 9th, 10th and 11th all being in Athens

I know UGA made the trip to Omaha last year and is a quality team (We played them last year in Omaha) so can anyone give me a run down or prediction for the games?

OSU is currently 4-0 after sweeping lowly Hawaii-Hilo, but we did have a no-hitter in game 1. I worry about our hitting but our pitching should be very good with Mike Stutes leading the way.


OSU is #15 and UGa is leading in "recieving votes" as fo this poll-

My prediction: It won't be a sweep for either team. I think we will win the first game then lose the second then I'll say you win the 3rd game just because I'm reallu unsure about this year's team. Series could go either way though

in related news-We were suppose to play UGA in football but that fell apart, we are playing Auburn though

Should be good. We are young. If it gets to our closer; it's lights out. Pitching will be our strength this year as well.

Can I ask you why Oregon doesnt have a baseball program? You would thing they would want to compete with one of the best northern baseball programs

They used to have a team but with title ix they had to drop it. OSU and UO have a deal where UO has track and field (phil knight/nike...they do quite well) and OSU gets baseball. Just another example of how title ix doesn't make things even but rather just hurts the men...

There is talk to add an UO baseball team in 2008 or 2009 but that likely won't happen.

As for uni's....can you imagine what they would do for baseball?!?!!? Unforunately though I hear NIKE is making new OSU football unis...I hear there is a solid orange version-:headshake

Anyways, sounds like the UGA-OSU game will be between two reloading/rebuilding teams...both talented but young
