JaMarcus Russell was named winner of the Manning Award Tuesday and probably moved from the middle of the pack in the first round to a possible first pick. The Manning Award is given each year to the nation's most outstanding college quarterback. The announcement was made by the Manning family and the Sugar Bowl committee with a phone call from Archie Manning to JaMarcus Russell. January was an unbelievable year for the rifle-arm quarterback from Mobile. Russell led LSU to a 41-14 win over Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl and was named MVP of the game. The sporting world's newest millionaire is about to be crowned.
