The amazing part about all those records is that we are all beating up on each other and still have those records. That means we must absolutely DOMINATE the OOC competition, as every SEC matchup results in not only a win for an SEC team but a loss as well.

I understand having a losing record against the SEC in bowl games. Many teams share that title. But 0-8? Come on man! We give you eight shots at us and you can't even win ONE? I mean, 1-7 is pretty bad, but at least that would mean you'd have won once. Couldn't even put up O-N-E W, pretty pathetic honestly.
I have nothing against OSU, btw. Most of my father's side of the family went there.

Again, you cite one game that took place 3 years prior to my conception. Think about that.
Gator cited eight games, many coming in the last 10 years. Get real man. OSU is a great school, team, and program. They are a golden standard, one of the best with a strong tradition of greatness.
But OSU is second best to the SEC and it doesn't look like that will change any time soon, regardless of what ESPN and other various media outlets pound into your brain.
You win with the media. We win in the field. I'll take our stance.

Big 10 football has nothing on the SEC. Every analyst puts the SEC number one and ive heard the PAC 10 second. Your argument going 2-1 vs SEC teams is valid. But only one bowl game matters and thats the championship game. Id rather see a regular season game than a SEC vs BIG10 bowl game. You lost to UF..Badly. Dont rag on our superior confrence. If you can honestly say the BIG10 is tougher then you my friend are fighting a loosing battle on this board.

STATKING to the rescue! The Big 10 can, and always has been able to compete with the SEC. However, I still say the dropoff is enormous (greater than the SEC) after the 3 or 4 powerhouses of the Big 10. There are just fewer decent 2nd and 3rd tier teams in the Big 10 than the SEC. Anyway, through 2006, the SEC leads the Big Ten with a 69-61-6 all-time record. The SEC has a .529 winning percentage versus the Big Ten. Since 1990, the SEC leads with a 30-23-0 record and a .566 winning percentage.

You have to remember that when I posted this, we (SEC fans) were still a bit fired up from having just proved the sports media world wrong...again.
We honestly wouldnt make such a big deal about this whole SEC vs. Big 10 thing if it weren't for guys like Kirk Herbstreit. When ESPN gives guys like him a microphone and a national audience they are just asking for trouble from SEC land. The national media usually refuse to give SEC teams their props and they most likely always will.

That is pathetic, when SC only went 9-3 and 8-4 those 2 years, and the Buckeyes were about to be crowned the best team in college football.

It's "hard to believe" because its BS. Leak was never booed...the crowd "booed" the decision to pull Tebow in the UK game after he had drove the offense to the goal-line with several big runs...although, I did boo him when he threw that last pick vs Auburn...I just knew we were about to drive down and win the game like the UT game...

Corso just hates the SEC just like ESPN in general. I think honestly, that the SEC might be strong enough in a few years, they could write their own check and have networks bid on 'em. ESPN thinks they have a lock on everybody right now. Just like the NCAA.

I don't think ESPN is necessarily biased towards USC....do they give them a lot of attention? yes. But look at what USC has become... the biggest college football dynasty of this millennium... They have a couple of NCs and were robbed in 03' after OU lost to kansas state in the BIGXII CG, but still got a chance to play for a NC... They are the New England Patriots of CF. They can play with just about anyone.... and while all the Michigan fans were whining about not being able to play OSU again, USC and UF tore the two up respectively.
now about Corso and Herbie... I can't stand watching gameday... but I do it anyways, because it gets me so pumped up. it's great waking up and realizing football is on at 9:30*

Nebraska, (AP) - After a bizarre police investigation, authorities confirmed Thursday that former Nebraska star Trev Alberts has passed away.
The nationally unrespected ESPN analyst was found at the bottom of an Alabama well on Wednesday, and after a 19-hour autopsy, Mobile police commissioner Yokum Cletus publicly came forward with the death announcement.
"It is still confusing, but I think we have finally pieced together what happened to Mr. Alberts," Cletus said.
The commissioner proceeded to use dozens of graphs and models to show gathered media the timeline that led up to Alberts' demise.
Alberts was vacationing alone in a farm outside of Mobile, Ala., when he noticed a chicken running past the porch. He started chasing the animal down the road, eventually coming to some train tracks.
"We have tape of the train's captain sounding the whistle for a good three minutes, but Mr. Alberts just stood on the tracks and waved," Cletus said. "The chicken got off the tracks, but I guess Alberts was just messed in the head."
While the crash would kill most people on impact, Alberts' brain did not process that he had been hit, and the former Cornhusker was simply thrown into a nearby river.
After being swept into an estuary, Alberts' questionable judgment continued.
"He climbed up one of those tall Alabama oak trees," Cletus said. "Then he tried to fly home."
Once again, Alberts miraculously survived, and continued on his doomed journey.
He staggered around in a cornfield for roughly nine hours, and by trample patterns, walked in circles for the entire time, until coming to the fateful irrigation well.
Mr. Alberts proceeded to jump into the well, falling to the muddy bottom 20 feet below.
There he sat for what police estimate to be two days.
"We would have found him pretty soon," Cletus said. "He would still be alive today if he hadn't made that deadly mistake."
Like most country boys, Alberts got hungry. He hit paydirt when a 3-lbs. rat fell down the well to join him.
But unfortunately for the biggest bust in NFL history, Alberts had never learned how to chew.
"When we found that big rodent lodged halfway down his esophagus with claws bared and all, I thought 'Damn, that has got to be the most painful way to die ever,'" Cletus said.
Scientists have since confirmed that it was indeed the most painful death on record.
Alberts leaves behind his wife, who has since remarried former Cornhusker Tommy Frazier, and two children, who immediately dropped the Alberts' name.
The one positive for the late Alberts is that he is now the proud owner of a body bag, giving him one more sack than he accumulated in his entire NFL career.

You want to talk about the most bias sports media figure, Lets talk about that SOB Trev Alberts. I for one am very glad ESPN fired him. I hope Mark May is next out the door. He sucks.
I could agree with Herby being wishy-washy because he is at times and it is very noticeable, but I don't think that he is over bias towards any conference. I have always though that he was one of the most fair that gave love to every team.
I disagree with you on that. I thought in the final weeks of the regular season and up to the BCSCG he was obviously biased. Now, I understand we're on different sides of the coin here, you being a Big 10 guy and me SEC. But, even if we were to meet in the middle, KH would still be seen leaning towards the Big 10.

I would agree that after the Michigan game, he became more bias. I for one will go on record and say that I did not want a rematch with Michigan in the NC game.

i think most OSU fans didn't want to play mich again. they had their chance...been there and done that. i think they really wanted to expose an SEC team and it backfired

Thats a good assumption.
Even though I think we would have beaten Michigan worse a second time, they had their chance. I really wanted to play So Cal just so we could tell ESPN to STFU about their supposed dynasty. But I was happy to play Florida, that was until Jan 9th. LOL
