Do you realize that if Southern Cal had beaten UCLA we would have never gotten to see UF plau OSU. This should be a very big hint to the BCS idiots to ditch the bowls and go with a playoff. It would have been a shame for UF to have been left out. Wouldn't have been nice for them to have been ranked 1 - 4 and had OSU play UF, Mich play LSU and winners play each other. In my oppinion it would have been LSU vs UF in the title game.

Good post, I was just thinking it earlier as well.

If not for the upset, no matter what Florida did, they would not be national champions. This would be a year in which the Big 10 is considered top dog, and it would have allowed the ESPN love fest for USC/OSU (the two teams who would have participated in the MNC game) and UM to continue strong throughout the offseason and into next year, because there would be no Gator team to prove them wrong.

Well, maybe we'll get there in year 2020.... after the BCS signs a new contract for a 4-team system in 2010 once the current Fox contract is up... and then realizes that doesn't work and throws in a couple wildcards on a new contract in 2015.... and then finally figures out a way to balance the bowl games ($$$) and have an 8-team or so playoff that doesn't extend into the NFL playoff schedule. Whew, I'm out of breath. :)
