There is a common misconception that all teenagers are worthless angry morons who can bring nothing to the table in terms of value.
I'm sure this will be used against me (as it has on other boards), especially when arguing with a few specific bammers, but I'm only 16. I like to keep that down low until I've been at a board for a while as many people are judgmental and would never give me any respect from the beginning if they knew I was 16.

You think we didn't know you were younger? I called you out from jump when you were unfamiliar with a lot of '80's and '90's SEC history. I think I even said," This is how we know we're talking to a young person.". True? I'll give you this, though. It hasn't taken you long to change your 'tude and make some quality contributions to the board. More than can be said of many on here. Guys I can tell are older in age if not mind. Acting like a mental midget is easy. I struggle with this, too; but knowing what not to say is often more important than knowing what to say.

I think you just got a bad first impression due to you joining the board at an awkward time, Iron Bowl time. I was definitely on edge then, but wasn't like that before. Pissing matches were all too common then, I couldn't help but participate. I believe I had one or two with you, which probably resulted in the early opinion of me you (and many others) formed.
Oh, and of course you knew I was younger. I don't try to hide it, really. I've stated several times before that I'm in high school but never stated an exact figure as far as my age in concerned.
Regarding 80's and 90's SEC history, I don't know jack pre-2000 (besides the obvious). But that's ok. I don't live in the past, the past if for losers. Live in the past, die in the past

Exactly. Dot the i? Nah, you gotta see real traditions like flying an eagle around the stadium before every game and toilet papering(not rioting and burning) the center of town after a win. Honestly, you could take the drunkest, meanest LSU fans and yet they don't burn down Baton Rouge or New Orleans after a big win or loss. Why does Columbus have a thing for burning and looting? The past is for losers?? I guess you mean "losers" like T Rocker, C Bennett, L Tillman, G Teague, P Manning, B Jackson, V Tiffen, E Smith, D Thomas, H Walker, etc. etc. etc.! I guess its easy to dismiss the past as being for "losers" when the only thing you know about the past are stats you find on the internet. I have been watching SEC football longer than you have been alive and let me tell you, I have seen some football worth remembering. CFB is built on the past! Thats why we watch. If you just forgot about it right after every game, what would be the point. History and Traditions are what makes CFB different from anything else. 20 yrs from now, you will understand what I mean.

It's probably not important to him right now because he doesn't really have one. Without the history, there'd be no posts on this forum. Hell, the 2006 NC is history; but, I'm pretty sure it's going to come up in a conversation or two for a long time. Like 20 years. What has everyone been talking about? The past performances of all the teams. Now, he may feel a little left out from time to time because he can't contribute to some of the discussions; but to claim he doesn't live in the past and it's for losers is naive and childish. " I'm not participating because it's for losers." sounds a lot like, "I'm taking my toys and going home.".

Well, all I can say is I have devoted a large part of my life to the insanity that is CFB and let me tell you, Im not quite ready to just forget it. I have alot of autographed Baseball/Football/Nascar cards that I have accumilated over the years and I guess they are worthless because the people that signed them no longer play?? I must be a fool because I recently bought an autographed Dale Earnhardt card and he is dead. What was I thinking. If the past is for "losers", what is the point in a "Hall of Fame", why do people retire jerseys or build statues of coaches? Why do people they give out trophies at the end of a SEC/NC/Bowl game instead of saying "You Win" and going home? What is the point in a "Throwback Jersey", why do people save football programs and newspaper clippings?

I'm merely pointing out that his assertion that our loyalties and pride in the pasts of our programs is for losers, is naive. I didn't pick the fight, I just didn't run from it. CFB is about the past, the future, and what they mean to each other. I don't know what you're referring to, as far as past NC's is concerned. UF only has 2, and 1 just came 2 days ago. I have heard very little about UF's 1996 title over F$U. Although that is another great story. I can only speak for myself... I absolutely love hearing the old war stories. They are the basis of our loyalties. If someone doesn't want to talk about football and SEC sports, why would they join a forum called " SECTalk"? It was a meant with no harm, just me poking fun at bammers. It was a joke. BTW, I did say live in the past, not refer to it. Yes, living in your past glories and focusing in them more than the present or future is for losers, there is no denying that. I'd also like to add that the previous sentence was not aimed at anyone, just a general statement.
People do a great job of making things a much bigger deal than they really are, and finding hidden meanings in things that don't exist. Again, that is another general statement, not aimed at 'you' specifically.

But if it's just susaphone players that get to 'dot the i,' do 80% of high school band members in Ohio not want to learn to play the susaphone? I can't imagine why anyone would pick another instrument if they wanted to be in the OSU band one day.
