Florida Gators 2006 National Champions

Total domination...that's the only phrase that describes the game...the talking heads (Kirk Herbstreit) could say nothing good about the Gators, they were pissed when UF was chosen over their beloved big 10 Meatchicken to play in the MNC Game, and spoke of buckeye domination...they also said the SEC wasn't as good as the big 10...well, I think the Gators put that little "thought" to bed tonight. Congrats to all the Gators on the board...we've done it!!!! National Champs!!!! Also, congrats to Urban Meyer...he's brought class, dignity and, now, a National Championship to the SEC!!!! Gotta go now...huge party at my house!!! Want directions? :laugh:

Florida represented the SEC well last night, to say the least. Someone quoted Moss on another board saying "we played alot of teams better than them" and he knew of "4 or 5 SEC teams" that could've competed against OSU the same way Florida did. Not sure if he actually said that or not, but I did see the Florida players pointing to the SEC logo on their helmets quite often. It was clear that they were playing for Florida first but definitely the SEC pride was showing!!! Congrats Gators. Thanks for shutting everyone up about Big-10 dominance.

I had to come and say Congrats to all the Florida fans......they represented the SEC with Pride last night! Im always Happy to see an SEC team contend for a National Title but to see Florida totally dominate an overhyped preseason #1 was beautiful! They also made the Heisman look like a joke, it was the most enjoyable game I had the pleasure of watching this year. To go through a 13 game season in the SEC is nearly impossible these days, to go through it with only one loss is almost just as tough......so Florida definately earned the right to be called Champions!
I think OSU would have went 6-7 if they played in the SEC, losing to Auburn, Florida, Tenn, Arkansas, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina at the very least, hell this team might have went 3-10.......whose with me on this?

A huge congratulations to the Gators! You showed total dominance last night and made your school and conference proud! Now I can resume being a Vol the last 356 days of this year and go back to Gator hatin'. ;-) It was a well played game on both sides of the ball for Florida and OSU looked flat. Could it be the loss of their star player early in the game that was the factor for OSU falling down? Who cares?! Florida looked like they got pissed off after the opening kickoff was run back for a TD and dominated the rest of the game. I'm proud to call you SEC brothers and I hope that someone from the SEC can do it again next year!

that was a beat down. beautiful. the quotes about the sec after the game from some of the players are priceless. i think it was jim tartt who said, "they dont want nothing to do with these southern boys." it was clear uf had been in those battles 5-6 times this year and this was osu's first test....and they failed miserably.

I think the Nuts would have gone about .500 in our conference this year, and it's games like this that (correctly) feed the stereotype about SEC speed and recognizing the SEC as the best conference, by far, in college football. I am convinced that such a stereotype, even though it's also a truism, can and will only help us--and one of our other SEC members fighting for a NC--in the very near future.

Great win for Meyer, his staff, the players, Chris Leak, and perhaps most of all, Moss and RayMac with the way they fought through tremendous physical adversity to become such a major factor in our title run. I couldn't be happier for any of them....

It's fun here on Cloud 9!
