After watching the Oklahoma State/Alabama bowl game, I have come to the following conclusions:

1. OSU is a good team, lots of talent
2. Lots of talent coming back
3. Gonna be a tough game, better bring our "A" game
4. Wish we were opening with a creampuff
5. Gonna be anxious for the season to start
6. Glad the game is "Between the hedges"; need every advantage possible

Need to win to build momentum for a tough SEC opening game versus USC.

Any thoughts?

They looked good...but this was a coachless Bama they were playing. I think we will be fine. Close 1st half, but we start to stretch it in the second. We should have a very strong team the next couple of years, I hope we can get off to a great start next year by beating a decent OOC opponent.

I agree. OSU did look good---I still think we're more talented. I just hope this win built up their stock to make our victory look better next season.

I long for the days when we beat up on a patsy to open the season.

Of course I'm kidding.

It will be interesting to see just how good we are from the start. However, next year there will be fewer concerns. The OL will still be a question mark, but there won't be any questions about who the QB is, ANY of those RB's (Lump, King, Moreno, Brown & Ware if they are there) would suit me fine, and we only lose, what, one WR? And on defense, we lose more leadership that talent. Probably two new DE's, new LB corps, and who'd have thought way back when that we'd have to worry one day about replacing "3rd team all american" Tra Battle?

I feel better about the matchup because it's in Athens, and we have less growing to do early on. But I hope we are as charged up as we were going into the Boise State opener last year, because OSU will BRING it. And we've seen how bad we can be when we underestimate an opponent.
