Dolphins for Sale, will it change Saban's mind? (http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm)

Don't quote me as saying the above...That's just what the article implies. Scroll down to "Fins for Sale" for the story.

Just some Thursday morning musings for the masses, I suppose.

Also, read the article "Bama pissed at Saban" directly below the Dolphins article. It's interesting to say the least.

"'BAMA PISSED AT SEXTON

Speaking of Alabama, a league source tells us that the powers-that-be in Tuscaloosa are miffed (to put it mildly) at agent Jimmy Sexton, whose list of high-profile clients includes Nick Saban.

Per the source, Sexton led 'Bama to believe that Saban was interested in the vacancy created when the son of former Fins coach Don Shula was fired. Then, after Alabama made an offer to Saban, he rejected it......."

Waittaminnit....Bama powers-that-be are pissed at Saban's agent because Saban wasn't interested? What gain could this agent realize by leading Alabama on like that..? I don't get why they're 'miffed' (to put it mildly)...??

I think what their pissed about is his agent leading them to believe he was interested. You know, as if they haven't embarrased themselves enough already.

I heard on the news last night that his name has "resurfaced" on the Bama list. I am going to love to hear what he has to say about this, again!

First of all, Welcome. Second, I just hope they get this coaching search over with soon. Pull out all the stops and find a coach. It's not as simple as that, but Bama has had ample opportunities to land a good coach. If Saban did wanted the job, and he wanted control of the program on his terms, the BOT and AD should have no problem with that.

I wouldn't pull any serious coaching rumors from "rumormill.com" websites. Also, if I was Jimmy Sexton, I would be tired of Bama too.. even if he was interested in negotiating a big contract with Bama, he couldn't walk out the front door of his house without 200 information leaks with fake contracts/"Saban here in 1 hour for press conference" rumors springing up.

I heard Chris Mortenson on ESPN radio yesterday and he basically said that the Saban rumors would really grow legs if Alabama doesn't hire anyone between now and Dec 31. They keep bringing up how hard it was to talk Saban out of Baton Rouge. It's the tired old "hours on the tarmac to convince him" story. I guess the point is, as doubtful as I think this deal is, it's still possible.

the leaks in our AD is what's killing us in this search.

AD meaning Athletic Director? In that case, he's in need of Depends.
