The Bama Bashing is getting old. There is no one here on this site that hires or fires coaches.Their search will end one day and i hope they get a good coach. Its time to drop it.

You come in a thread that is discussing Arkansas players to make fun of Auburn for losing to arkansas despite the fact that it does not pertain to the topic at hand in any way, shape, or form.
You didn't 'follow it up' as it was 12 minutes earlier, but it was made none the less and completely contradicts what you said in here.

Look bud, one of your Auburn brethren makes a post about Bama every five min. Tough luck that the barn took a beating from the Razorbacks. I just think it's ironic that you Barners believe everything you hear but the first time a bammer says anything about, well anything you guys fly in like vultures.....So, step off your soap box, 'cause I don't want to hear it.
Quit instigating, as you have done here, and maybe it would stop all together.

I'm the instigator? I'm pretty sure you're the one who made the flame, then said 'stop flaming'. All I did was point it out. Sorry you can't stick to one perspective, must be a bammer thing as you guys can't stick with 1 coach either.

Here's an idea gmcck4life, "DON'T READ OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY BAMMER THRASHING THREADS!!!!
Why are you reading Bammer thrashing threads if it bothers you so much?
If you will remember, all of the Bammers were bashing the COCKS just a couple of weeks ago....you didn't hear any Auburn fan whine to the board about the South Carolina bashing did you?
Unless you have been hiding in some cave in Afghanistan, 99% of the MSM is bashing Bammer right now and it's not going to stop until they hire a coach....even then, the Bammer bashing will continue because they were forced to hire a D list coach..
My advice to you since Bammer bashing bothers you so much is to quit reading Bammer bashing threads....Doesn't that make sense to you?
" Maybe Alabama wouldn't be so quick to have fired Mike Shula if they knew that nobody in America who mattered would be willing to step in and replace him.
Look at who has already said no. Nick Saban: Pass. The Ol' Ball Coach: No thanks. Frank Beamer: Why should I? Bobby Petrino: Downgrade. Rich Rodriguez: Make me. Oh, and Jim Leavitt wants nothing to do with you. That has to hurt. Being Alabama and getting the Heisman from the coach at South Florida, at least the U. was turned down by Rutgers. At this point, you might as well dig up Bear Bryant. Or better yet, see if Mike Price is still interested. Trust me, you're not going to do any better.
The front of the jersey may still say Alabama but in name only. That program is nowhere right now. It's become an SEC afterthought. Enjoy the glory days of Bryant, Namath, Stabler, Stallings, Alexander, Price because that's all you have and that is not going to change."

I've noticed a trend around here. Every thread goes something like this:
Post 1: Some intelligent or at least interesting post about football or the SEC.
Post 2: That's interesting...but Bama doesn't have a coach and sucks.
Post 3: No, Bama is the best. We have 2,309 national championships.
Post 4: Bama sucks...most of the national championships came before I was born and were passed out by convenience stores and found in cereal boxes.
Post 5: Bama rocks...we can have anyone we want as coach. We really didn't want Saban/Spurrier/RichRod...it was all a smokescreen while we recruited our real coach: Bill Belicheck. My cousins brother's sisters dog sitter is a private plane pilot and he just flew Mal to Boston. Here's the link to the flightlog:
Post 6: Auburn rules, Bama still sucks and still doesn't have a coach. I bet they couldn't get most high school coaches to take the job.
Post 7: I agree Bama sucks but the Gamecocks are the best. Those losers at Bama thought they could take our coach? I was 100% sure that Spurrier wasn't going to leave us, but I'm still going to bash Bama until they finally hire a coach just to pay them back for making me nervous...wait, I wasn't nervous...I told you I was 100% sure he was staying.
Post 7: Bama spanked the Gamecocks last year. And how many national championships does Auburn have?
Post 8: Keep living in the past buddy...Go rent a shovel and dig up "the Bear"...By the way Auburn was undefeated 3 years ago and some publications picked them to win the national championship the year before that.
Post 9: Brandon Cox Sucks.
Post 10: That's not true, if you divide his completion percentage by the number of dropped passes and then add in the length of the turf, then multiply by the number of carries Tre Smith gets, he's got great stats. By the way, he had a severe knee injury during the Georgia game. The swelling from the knee affected his vision causing color blindness, which made him think his team had on the red helmets. If it weren't for that we would have won that game. Does Bama have a coach yet?

Please explain this CrimsonTide12xs:
Tuberville has gone 32-5 since 2004, and is an astounding 20--3 against SEC teams. Under Tuberville, Auburn has a winning record against its three biggest rivals, LSU (5-3), Georgia (5-3), and Alabama (6-2).
He has led Auburn to 5 straight victories over in-state rival Alabama, the longest win streak in this rivalry since 1982. Tuberville is 6-2 against Alabama, winning 5 straight something that has not happened since 1954-58, before a gentleman named Paul “Bear” Bryant arrived at Alabama and changed the balance of power in the state for the next two decades. Today the pendulum definitely has swung in Auburn's direction.
In the past seven years, Tuberville has guided Auburn to the top of the SEC standings, leading the Tigers to an SEC Championship and five Western Division titles (including outright championships in 2000 and 2004 and co-championships in 2001, 2002 and 2005). Under his direction, the Tigers have made six consecutive bowl appearances including four New Year's Day bowl berths.
The Auburn Tigers were a perfect 13-0 in 2004 including the SEC title and a win over Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl. Coach Tuberville received Coach of the Year awards from the AP the American Football Coaches Association, the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
In 2005, despite losing the entire starting backfield from the unbeaten 2004 team to the first round of the NFL draft, Coach Tuberville led Auburn to a 9-3 record.
Tommy Tuberville has also established himself as one of the best big game coaches in college football, winning 8 out of 9 games against top 10 opponents since the start of the 2004 season.

I will happily explain. The Barn went 13-0 but it still doesn't get you one of those sparkly things I use an avatar. So, a 13-0 season is irrelevant if you can't get to the big show. I will admit the talking heads on ESPN probably helped that along, nobody wanted to see the Barn it's just a AG college. Now if Bama had gone 13-0 there's no question they would have let us play for the NC. People want to see that. Bama is like a villan in a movie, everybody loves to hate him.

Auburn fans just get a life. I am sorry you have no tradition to fall back too. I am sorry that you will not have your own Bear to fall back too. In the last 14 years bama has a national championship. Does Auburn? So how can you talk what have you done in the last 15 years. Oh and if Borges leaves Auburn will fall because the only thing Tommy has done is surround himself with good coaches. Two to three years and we will see where we stand

Auburn is about stability and working with what we have. We've been doing it throughout our football program and we're happy at the results. We're fans of the school and the team, not the coach. When Shug, Dye, and Tubs are coach, we're Auburn fans. Likewise when we had Barfield and Bowden as coach, we were still Auburn fans because we love the program through and through and we also appreciate stability.

Have you ever offered any substance to anything other than bashing Bama? There are many AU fans on here that can make fun of Bama but can still offer more with other football talk. You on the other hand seem incapable of such. The poster formerly known as Millenium Eagle is nothing more than a flamer.
:flaming: But we should take it easy on the guy because it seems evident that somewhere in his lifetime he has developed this sickness and it is not his fault. Although it may be impossible to pinpint the origin of this illness we can rest assured that its all Alabama's fault.
If all of this Bammer bashing hurts your feelings this much, why in the hell do you keep reading and posting in these kinds of threads? Stop whining and crying to everybody about the entire country bashing your football program.
If all of this bashing bothers you this much, I suggest you go back to Tider Insider or Bamamag and read all of the positive delusional threads about Bear Bryant and the 1970's....

I have to ask you Bama fans. Why do you even bother trading insults with a bunch of no-class farmers? Listen, they're just depressed. All they have is bashing. They keep talking about Alabama having a great past, but it has a NC that happened in OUR lifetime, and you didn't have to share it. There's really nothing to argue about. Bama has a great history, went 10-2 last year, and I'm sure is destined for greatness again. I do think your boosters need to get out of the way, though. It was a mistake to fire Shula after one bad year. That's why nobody's jumping at the chance to coach there. Don't want to have to move in 2-3 years. Auburn College, on the other hand, has little to show in the past, present, or future. They have 2 recent undefeated seasons. One blew up in their face because they were caught cheating, and the other blew up in their face, because nobody respected them enough to give them a shot at the NC. Their coach goes on national T.V., sounding like Rodney Dangerfield("We don't get no respect"), and cries about their position before the season's even over. Then, of course, they get spanked by the Hogs and Dawgs and make Toober look stupid. :brick: Combine all these things with having to live in Auburn, where Phenix City is the BIG CITY, and you'll understand why they have to take their shots when they can. Usually when someone else is down. When I was hitched to an Auburn alumn, we went to Jordan-Hare all the time. Their fans have no class. They're poor winners and poor losers. So, don't stoop to their level; that septic tank is deep. Plus, you'll never out-insult them. They've had lots of practice. :stickpoke

This is one of the many reasons the entire country is bashing Bammer..... This is pathetic... Bammer is stalking Nick Saban...
Another denial from Saban
Tuesday, December 12, 2006
IAN R. RAPOPORT
News staff writer
TUSCALOOSA - Despite another denial of interest Monday, Miami Dolphins coach Nick Saban remains at the top of the Crimson Tide's wish list for a new head football coach, one source close to the search said Monday.
Previously reported candidates Jim Grobe of Wake Forest and Navy's Paul Johnson also remain on the list, the source said.
Saban issued another denial regarding the Alabama job on Monday, asking reporters in Miami: "When does this become a dead story?" This was a day after NFL reporter Peter King of NBC-TV reported that Saban did not specifically say to him that he has no interest in the Alabama job.
Saban on Monday said King misunderstood. Still, Saban left open one possible avenue.
"I in no way wanted to indicate to him or anybody else that there was any possibility of that. I have no intentions of going anywhere," Saban said. "They might not want me here after this season. Did you ever think of that?"
As recently as late last week, sources told The News that Saban's representatives had conveyed interest on the coach's part.
Fans should not expect a decision soon, a source said Monday. Alabama officials are committed to working methodically, which means Athletics Director Mal Moore could still be waiting when the Dolphins end their season on Dec. 31.
Alabama’s search to replace Mike Shula be gan on Nov. 27 with South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier and Saban at the top. West Vir ginia coach Rich Rodriguez, after reaching an agreement in principle, turned down the job on Friday. Another previously mentioned candi date, Arkansas’ Houston Nutt, has interest, two sources said, but it was uncertain if Alabama has any interest in him right now.
In his most recent statement on Friday, Moore said he is still looking for a “proven head coach.” And Alabama does not want to change the economics of college football, which means the salary probably would fall in the realm of the $2 million a year Moore of fered Rodriguez.
Alabama would make an exception for Sa ban, a source said. He may command some where around the salary of Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops, who makes $3.45 million a year.
Johnson and Grobe have received - or are in line to receive - raises from their current schools, and both coaches have recently reaf firmed their loyalty to their current programs.
Another possibility being mentioned by peo ple within the industry is for Alabama to hire an NFL coach such as Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden, a Super Bowl winner who is on the hot seat while suffering through a 3-10 season, or former Packers coach Mike Sherman.
But a source close to the situation said Moore, in the wake of hiring Shula, a former NFL assistant, is not inclined right now to hire a pro coach who has not had a sustained level of success on the college level.
Other possibilities, according to several sources familiar with the situation, fit into the up-and-coming head coach category: Tulsa’s Steve Kragthorpe, Wisconsin’s Brett Bielema, and Arizona’s Mike Stoops.
Kragthorpe led Tulsa to a C-USA title in 2005. Bielema, who is 36 years old, concluded his first season at Wisconsin 11-1. Mike Stoops’ Wildcats are 6-6 with a win over No.¤8 California.
But they might not represent the “proven head coach” that Moore seek

Auburn fans are the most fascinating fans of mediocrity in the World. Like I've said before, the biggest thing they brag about is winning 5 in a row against a team under the worst sanctions imaginable, with a lameduck coach (with no experience and terrible playcalling ability I may add). But really every year they had expectations, they have been mediocre. The year they wen't 13-0 they were too far down to catch up to OK and USC, I'd have liked for them to go so they'd have lost, and they would've lost.
All the while, when Bama was dominate a win over was something we ofcourse wanted to do to maintain order, sorta like USC beating UCLA, but it didn't really make or break our season, definately not the way it defines theirs.
Please get bigger goals than beating a team beaten down by the NCAA, and win with some class why don't ya. And realize that once Bama's program is stabalized they're going to get those recruits that you're doing nothing with once again.

Losing a football game (especially with a team that isn't very good) is not the equivalent of destroying a program. Shula did the best he could with the cards he was dealt. The Bama fanbase didn't even let the man have a year with all of his own recruits. And now any incoming talent that was supposed to be at Bama next year is being rapidly scooped up by the rest of the SEC.
But I guess thats what happens when you get taken behind the woodshed by Papa Croom and those cowbell crazies in your own place huh?
If you don't think Shula was a lameduck coach you're lost. If it weren't for that 10-2 season that Kines got him, he'd have been gone last year. That little money didn't hurt Bama, as there were some stupid NFL teams supposedly asking to talk to him, and he only had one more year. But regardless of whether or not he changed coaches this year, he was only going to get next year to prove he was truly the man to keep the job.
You're trying to compare apples and oranges.

He could not make a decision on the spot. Everytime there was a problem during a game he would have to talk to everyone...not just the players that would be running the next play. from a previous thread, when Bama had just announced Shula's demise:
" From my standpoint , I have no doubt that Bama will return to prominence. However, I honestly believe that they pulled the trigger too quickly.
I'm afraid their return to the top has been unnecessarily postponed.
I remember when J. Majors was at TN and it drove us fans nuts the way he changed everything for the Bama game. BUT...he was winning @ 7 or 8 games per yr. I was as frustrated as anyone, but who were we going tp get to do better in the mid 80s? Its not always about whether the present guy is the one to lead you to the promised land - its about making the best decision today for the future success of the program...
sometimes that means biding your time a little and continuing to improve in increments until an opportunity arises."
looking back now, it is even more relevant - why pull the trigger w/o a good coach up your sleeve?

Tips for getting Bama fans to commit suicide....
Emphasize their football program is an SEC afterthought.....Caper about as you say this.
Remind them they are a dying program.... Say you're sorry to see them go.
Point out that the UA are now easily the most hated football program on earth, and it's going to get worse....
Note that the entire country is praying for their destruction every day.
Ask them what they think went wrong..... It's OK to hint about catastrophic failures of the football program since the death of the Bear....
Tell them that the world knows nothing about the UA but incompetence beyond the imagination of God, their tendency to buy players on a daily basis, their desire to stalk successful NFL and college coaches.... Get them wallowing in their cesspool of abject failure..... Be sympathetic, but happy you're not them...
Remember: they have this coming. We're just helping karma along on this.....
Enthusiastically describe the big party the SEC is going to have when the Alabama football program finaly gets the death penalty.... (will happen sooner than anyone can imagine)
Say sadistic little things about Bear Bryant and the UA' character..... The more the BS the better.... Call them slavetradors, houndstooth fascists, degenerates, whatever...
If they can do it, we can do it.....
Sing a song! Bammers can often be lured into suicide with a sad song.....
I myself have killed many Bammers with my singing.... Try it--it's well worth the trouble!
Throw up on them.... This often puts them over the edge.... It would me, I can tell you that....
Anyway, if you know a despondent Bammer(you know—your creepy neighbor wearing a houndstooth hat covered with Bear Bryant tatoos), get to work on him right away....
The SEC will never be free or happy until the UA receive the death penalty.... I invite you to make that your credo....
"Maybe Alabama wouldn't be so quick to have fired Mike Shula if they knew that nobody in America who mattered would be willing to step in and replace him.
Look at who has already said no.
Nick Saban: Pass.....
The Ol' Ball Coach: No thanks.....
Frank Beamer: Why should I?
Bobby Petrino: Downgrade......
Rich Rodriguez: Make me....

Quote from the aunation.net boards:
"Yep. My daughter is a junior in high school. She hasn't suffered a Monday-after-Iron-Bowl redneck gloating party since she was in sixth grade. Here's hoping she makes it through high school unscathed. "
Wow. Alabama fans are rednecks, huh? Sure, rednecks are everywhere. But Auburn fans aren't rednecks? BS. What does that make Auburn fans? Debutants, high society?
That's what I hate about Auburn fans sometimes. They accuse Bama fans of being redneck morons, yet nobody who lives outside of the state of Alabama can tell the difference. Especially me. You've got rednecks, dumbasses, ordinary folks, smart folks, and rich folks on both sides.
It's like UCLA fans accusing USC fans of being too "Hollywood." They're both in L.A., they both have the same type of fans. What's the difference, besides school preference?
I normally don't rant, but this guy believes that he is somehow higher and exhalted above Bama fans simply because their school is in some turmoil. Five years seems like a long time for some, but I believe a lot of Auburn fans have gotten big heads, bloated egos, and bought a high horse to ride on in the past five years. It seems to me that a lot (not all) Auburn fans have reversed roles and have become the cocky ones, instead of Alabama.
It's easy to kick someone when their down. I hate to be proud, I always have. I'm not an "in your face" or "ha! take that!" type of guy. Anyone who is deserves a swift kick to the head. I'm not happy when Auburn loses, I could care less. I'm happy when Alabama wins.

Thats a thread in the Auburn section of this site (open to the public, just like aunation and tidefans) that you and other Bama fans posted in. Does your interest in an Auburn thread or an Auburn themed section make you obsessed with Auburn? I'm guilty of browsing some Bama forums/the Bama section of this site to see whats new with the Alabama program. I like reading/watching Alabama basketball a lot (since we don't really have a team), so I like to keep up to date with whats going on. I also read the recruiting threads/rivals sections of other SEC teams.
Long story short, I'm sure all the alabama fans here and all the auburn fans here have been to their rivals respective sites at least once to see how different people view different issues. The coaching vacancy discussion is much different at Tidefans/CrimsonTusks than it is at www.al.com/forums/tide (http://www.al.com/forums/tide).

Hell, even Bama fans hate Bama fans, they have no friends.... Their football program is a doomed demographic of aging white guys with no hope of change or recovery in the future....
That's a real recipe for despair--especially amongst people so depressive they eat breakfast believing that the entire world is out to destroy them....
I mean, that's what they say they believe....that there's a conspiracy going on to destroy the Alabama football program.... Small wonder they rarely smile.....

Their only joy in life is Bear Bryant and the 1970's.... They cause misery everywhere they go..... so hide your children when your creepy neighbor wearing a Houndstooth hat comes round....
So--what with everything going wrong and their whole coaching search a miserable failure--Bammers are understandably even more down than usual, and are thus killing themselves in record numbers.

The best site for freindly banter, if you are an AU fan, is Tidefans.com. Of course for the past month it's been crazy. Double threads, teaser threads, and nothing but coaching talk. They are all on edge about this coaching deal. That's part of the reason I made SECTalk my new favorite forum site. I've been at Tidefans.com for over a year now. The only heated debates used to be in the Non-Sports forum (politics and such). But now the mods and admin are banning members left and right, can barely keep up with the number of threads being created, etc.
BTW, Blake, we've all been irrational at one point or another. You, me, and many others. You are one of the better AUB fans in my opinion. More rational than most. You make aunation.net members look like loons. Those guys are vicious.

I believe, or hope, everyone on this site knows that. If you'll read the previous posts, you'll see that the quote AUTiger uses is a humorous quote from the movie "Animal House", and a very good movie at that. If you haven't seen it, let me recommend you go to your local video store and rent it. It is a classic and great for quite a few laughs. Here's an excerpt from the movie (keep in mind that Bluto had an overall GPA of 0.0):
D-Day: War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...
[thinks hard]
Bluto: the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!

M&M's are powerful, and fat kid's are magical. Just the mention of them, in the same sentence no less, can cause wild things to take place.

There should be a warning on the main page to viewers about this thread. Something like " Do not read on a full stomach" or " Not intended for use by mentally healthy homosapiens", etc. Or " Abandon hope, all ye who enter..."

Post 11: michiganisthebestteameverandfloridascrewedthemouto fanationalchampionsip.oopswrongthread.
