He shouldn't have been fired in the first place without a suitable replacement waiting in the wings. Hopefully Moore will get his head out of his ass and just hire Joe Kines. I can't think of a more deserving candidate.

I was thinking out this earlier. It's unrealistic, of course, but I think Bama would be in a better place had they help on to Shula.

I'm really shocked at how this thing has played out. I was for sure RR was coming. I mean you can't take talk radio, web sites, and other rumor mills seriously, but ESPN sportscenter... usually reliable. When a national media outlet reports Rodriguez to Alabama you take that serious. I really can't believe he turned them down. Not so much that he turned them down but that Bama offered the job without knowing for sure he would accept. Mal Moore going to NY to meet with him was stalker like. It seems to me that he didn't want RR to come to Tuscaloosa and see what a mess this thing really is down here.

can't believe they didn't have an ace in the hole before they fired Shula.

If I were in Bama's shoes , I would make an offer to Jeff Bower of USM.

He is a winner. Check out his career at USM.

Jeff Bower will NOT leave H'burg. His daughter is buried there and he ain't going anywhere. You can take that to the bank!

LOL, Wouldn't it be funny to rehire shulah, be paying his buyout, and paying him to coach. That would be funny. Unrealistic but funny.

No chance of this. Shula had his chance to keep his job, but he blew it by refusing to change up his staff a little. He has no one to blame but himself.

He was a lock... just like Saban and Spurrier, lol. Seriously though, it was reported by Sportscenter that he agreed in principle to a contract then the next afternoon he turned the tide down

On a completely different subject, did you see anything over the weekend? I haven't had a chance to go yet this season
