This weekend the pride of Arkansas is back in the ring. I know I can't wait and this should really showcase some of the things that Steward has been able to teach Taylor since he took over. Not that I never liked Burns but who can argue with Steward taking over. Plus the fight is in Little Rock so you know they will be calling the Hogs.

Taylor fights boring-like and shouldn't have beaten Hopkins both times nor Wright. The Super Featherweight fights between Pacquiao, Barrera, and Morales has been where the action has been over the last couple years.
I could watch Pacquiao-Morales I and II any day of the week.

I can agree with you on some points. But Pac, Morales, and Barrera go to war every fight practically and that isn't what Taylor, Hopkins, and Wright normally do. Taylor is actually a very exciting fighter but guys like Hopkins and Wright will make any fighter look boring. Also Taylor's skills are developing under Steward and I think we will see his hands fly more instead of just jab-jab-straight right.

Anyone catch this fight? I thought it turned out to be a pretty good one considering the shots that Ouma was able to withstand. Taylor tried hard to knock him out in the first 4 rounds but was unable to. Ouma really showed he has a chin as Taylor connected with several straight rights and uppercuts. Really was suprised that one judge scored the fight 115-113. I thought Ouma maybe won one or two rounds at the most. But Taylor still has work to do if he is gonna fight Joe Calzaghe. His rights seemed to be a little wide but Ouma was pressing hard and almost seemed to charge Taylor at times. Everyone could pretty much agree that Taylor's power kept Ouma at bay as Ouma only threw 700 punches which is well below his average.
Overall I thought Taylor did great. In front of a hometown crowd, it was good to hear the crowd calling the Hogs. And from what I understand, the fans really packed the place out. Nice little shout out to McFadden by Taylor also. WPS!

Are they going to be able to get Taylor a fight outside of the Arkansas area? I know he's not a big draw and that's part of the reason, but still.

I wouldn't judge a boxer's skill by whether he is boring or not. Sweet Pea Whitaker was as boring as they come, but ask the one's who fought him whether he was a good boxer or not. Being flashy will sometimes leave you looking up from the canvas. Most think Ali was flashy, but in his true form he was mainly a great counter puncher. Thats why when you put up a street fighter against a boxer, the boxer will win 99/100 times.

I agree totally, tim. And I don't think anyone ever mentioned Taylor being a boring fighter until he fought Hopkins. After the two bouts with Hopkins and then with Wright...the boring word crept in. Different boxing styles can pose a boring fight. That was also Taylors first fight in Arkansas since he fought Joppy, 5 fights ago. Credit goes to Ouma also, he seems like a class act.
