4 star tackle from rosenberg,TX Jarvis Jones commits to LSU. He stands at 6-6 250. Les Miles is doing a great job with recruiting lineman in this year's class.
LSU should have a top 3 class by the recruiting season's end.
if they sign:
Joe McKnight
Chad Jones
Terrance Toliver
Luther Davis
Will Blackwell
Steffoin Francois
Christian Scott

I think we'll end up getting Tolliver. Also, I think it's like a 50-50 shot that you guys get McKnight. He's expressed a lot of interest in USCw and with freshmen Charles Scott and Keiland Williams really coming on strong he may look the other way in hope of more PT. However, USCw's RBs are also young and I'm sure the loss to UCLA won't help their case.

Just heard that Noel Devine is seriously considering LSU at this point. Word is that he wants to get out of Florida and try to start a new reputation for himself. He is tired of people analyzing his every action and some of the criticism he has received. This is an interesting situation that is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
I think this young man is headed for trouble. I know his grades are an issue, but he definitely sounds like he will be a problem kid. Maybe the U would be the best fit for him. I have to say I'm glad that UF didn't pursue him from what I've heard.

Davis and Blackwell are probably leaving the state. Chad Jones might just take the baseball money. Of course that won't be a big deal if they land Francois and Scott.
Noel Devine isn't going to make it through college without a lot of financial help from Deion Sanders.

It's been expected since he committed. Time to move on to Melancon and make a harder push to keep McCrary from the Zooker.

I'm not impressed with Drake Nevis at all. I've seen him play twice this year. He really did nothing in either game. I saw him play once against my alma mater. Our O-Line averaged like 6-1.5', 270lbs and they shut him down and knocked him back all night long. He didn't get a single sack and I think he only even got close to our QB once. Good luck to LSU with this one. I could be completely wrong, but from the two games I saw him play I don't think he'll ever see the field for LSU. Especially not with Al Woods about ready to step into the D-Line.

Well it's a good thing for Nevis that LSU doesn't play a 3-4 since Woods can only play one of the spots. He would have made an immediate impact at Ole Miss next to Ted Laurent though.

My gut feeling after watching him play is that he'll be an average college DT at best.

LSU picked up two commitments early today from Drake Nevis (DT, 6'1", 296) from John Ehret and Phelon Jones (CB, 6'1", 190) from Mobile, Alabama. The two players visited LSU over the weekend with their parents.
LSU commitments Kentravis Aubrey and DeAngelo Benton from Bastrop are the real deal. Aubrey is a 6'4", 290, DT who looked like a man playing with boys and was more than the Shaw offensive line could handle in the State Playoffs this weekend in the Dome. Very likely that Aubrey will play as a true freshmen next season for the Tigers. Benton is a 6'3”, 190, WR with 4.5 speed and great leaping ability. I very much doubt if there is a better wide receiver prospect in the South than Benton.

Now now, give Dandy Don his credit if you're going to swipe his info.

Well, I did clean it up a little bit! But you're right... the info is from Dandy Don.

I agree, I think Benton is going to be the next Craig Davis. He doesn't have the speed of a Xavier Carter, but he has the hands of a Mark Clayton player and makes you miss. He and Jared Mitchell are going to be very influential WRs at LSU over the next couple of years.
Aubrey is an absolute beast on the D-Line. I've seen him bowl over O-Lineman that were much bigger than him. He seems to get to the QB instictively, almost as if he can read the QBs mind and know where the QB will try to bounce away. These are two great pickups for LSU. Congrats!

As Perrilloux time approaches, it is good to know that we are getting a resupply of good WRs!
