If Shula was going to be here next year they would have come out today and put an end to all the talk. This kind of talk kills recruting. The reason they have not said anything is they are finding a new coach. They are not going to fire Shula until they have someone lined up.

Saban on Line 1, and I'm hearing that a man with the middle name Orr was at the Tuscaloosa-Northport Airport late on the night of November 14th, which would have been a week ago tomorrow. The usual suspects (Finebaum, WJOX sports shows, Rick Karle on Birmingham's Fox 6) can't say no to any of it.

Check This Out (http://www.tidefans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49800)
Rumors arise in the thread that the BOT and MM have agreed to release Shula. Now they only need Witt's word. Someone mentioned that the lights in the Administration building were still on as they were going by. This was about 9:00 or so. So apparently the discussions were pretty heavy concerning coaches next season.

Aye, because the folks at TI tend to err on the side of truth when it comes to Rumors.
Speaking of which, looks like I'm gonna win my vBookie bet on Shula being fired.

Guys, time to say "I'M SORRY NEO FOR DOUBTING YOU!"
Come on, show some humility, or else be humiliated.

I said he was going to be fired after the MSU game. Getting beat by MSU was enough humbling to last me the rest of the season.

Wally, you're one of the decent 'Bammers. The others would do well to learn from you.

I know when to accept defeat. Even against Auburn. Oh, BTW, congrats on the win. I don't think I have said it yet.

How about you wait until something is official before asking people to say something like that? It's not even a fact yet, all just speculation.
I will apologize if it's true, however... someone on the internet quoting their "peeps" is far from a reputable source for people to believe.

Might be a smart bet afterall, if your Shula and you have players in your face, JPW punching trainers, and your own BOT's trying to kick you out... You would probably resign too.

Of course, how else would presents magically appear? Non-believers.
But seriously, if you were in Shula's position, and all this chaos is going on.. why would you want to stay? If my BOT's votes unanimously to boot me out, I resign asap and let them try to pick up the peices.

So you would just resign and walk away from $4 million dollars?
If he is fired, the school would owe Shula $3 million, plus $200,000 for each year remaining on the contract. That raises the buyout to $4 million.
You need to seriously rethink your strategy here professor...

Ok you're definitely right about that part. I guess he pretty much has to let them fire him. Poor Shula.

Once again, all of that is pure speculation. None of it has ever been reported. It amazes me all these people claim this stuff happens on the sideline, but apparently none of the journalists on the side lines see it.

I'd rather just let it stand on its own merit.
