Rumors have surfaced that the braves are set to deal Giles, Ramirez, and Saltalamachia to the Padres to Jake Peavy. I like it.

That would be a sweet deal, Ramiriez and Giles stay hurt all the time. Giles would then be with his brother. Pevey would be a great addition to the starting rotation. Something they need very bad.

This would be the perfect deal. Giles hasnt been very productive lately for the Braves and their catching prospect saltalamachia is one of the top prospect's in MLB. He could probably start at C for the Padres and that would move Piazza to 1B. Braves are in desperate need of SP and he would be a good solution. Peavy didnt struggle a little this past season but is still a top gun. Braves already have McCann who had like almost a 100 RBI's in his first season as a catcher which is unheard of. Should make the trade.

Peavy is one of the top young pitching prospects in the game. Under Mazzone's tutelage, there is no telling what he can do.

Ouch. That hurts.
(You know we don't HAVE Mazzone any more, right?)
I was tired of waiting for Horatio to be consistent. I would have liked to have kept Salty, but McCann's for real.

I love Salty, but where and when does he fit in Atlanta while McCann is there. Either one is too good to be on the bench. We gotta get value for him.

Oops, I forgot. He is in Baltimore, right? Regardless, Peavy is a nice addition.

Wow I have no clue but Atlanta's farm system is so good that they can plug in anyone at that position and get production.

Since they already gave away Wilson Betimet to LA for a wore out pitcher, I assume they will play the rookie that came with that deal.
