for Mario Raley. He suffered what looked to be a neck injury similar to David Pollack's. Or maybe a concussion, or both. He was knocked cold for a few minutes, and carried off on a stretcher strapped down to a board. It was a somber and scary moment. He has my prayers, and hopefully all of yours as well.

Anybody got an update on his condition?

I can't find any updates this morning other than the fact that he was kept overnight.

I did see in the paper this morning that he had feeling in all extremities and that the doctors expected a full recovery. They did not disclose the full nature of his injuries, I suppose at the request of Raley and/or his family. Thank God for good news!!

It's bad enough losing but to have a player seriously injured is even worse.

My thoughts are with he and his family. Who did this young man play for? This is the first that I've heard of this terrible situation.

He's a receiver for UGA.

Have there been any more word on his condition?

That's all I've heard...what I posted above, that is. It looks as if he'll be allright, but there was no word on how long his recovery would take, or if he would play football again. I was just happy to hear that he was OK. He took a shot from behind on a middle screen play. He was turning to try to avoid a tackle and spun around. His momentum was then carrying him backwards. When he got hit the added momentum from the tackler (in the same direction) ultimately was released in a whiplash-type motion, with his body hitting the ground first then his head snapping back against the turf. He was knocked out cold from the impact, and, my guess, suffered a concussion and possibly a neck injury of some kind.

I'll post if I hear more.
