After 10 games in 2006 there is not much to be proud of in regards to playing winning football. I'm sure that our players and coaches have done their best but it has been a pure dissappointment. Taking nothing away from the Miss St. or any other team this year. Alabama football has gotten progressive worse as have the decisions as the year has gone along. No two ways about it. No other coach deserves or fan base deserves it more than the STATE fans so congratulations.

As for the 2006 season it is a wrap in my book! I'm not a quitter nor will I waiver in my support for the team, however, I am man enough to admit that this season has gotten the best of me and that is much more a bigger dissappointment than the football team. Good luck to LSU and AU in the last two games of the season.

So it's now offical. Mike Shula is Alabama's equal to what we had with Doug Barfield. Not so fun when you lose and look like crap is it? 'Bama has the talent to win, and that's being fair, but so long as Mike Shula is coach at Alabama, then you guys will NEVER do well. If I were you, I'd call for the heads of Shula, Moore, and Witt. Complete cleaning of the slate from the President to the AD to the Coaching Staff.

I will try to express this without being a butthole:I have contended all year that Shula needed to go for Bama to succeed at a higher level.Granted,I think Auburn is very average this year-but what is the difference between the results Auburn and Bama have achieved?COACHING,Auburn rises to the occasion in big games,Bama tries, but ultimately falls short, often sabotaging themselves with penalties, turnovers, and bad playcalling.Talent the difference?I don't think so.I would argue that Bama's defense is better than Auburns this year.On offense,if Auburn had Bama's recievers I think we would be undefeated, and JPW is awesome. It comes down to game prep, playcalling, and intangibles, getting into the players heads and convincing them that they can play with anybody. If the powers that be have any sense, they will try to grab up one of the free,or hot coaches out there this year before another program does.

I said "If I were Alabama" I would. Hell now I understand how sweet it was for Alabama in the 70s to be highrolling while Auburn was in the bottom.

I want to see the latest on KeepMikeShula.com; can't wait to have a good laugh, and that's not even counting what Finebaum has to say on Monday!

My thoughts on the game:

Once again, our problem is the OL. I expect to see some changes made for the bowl game, and major changes for next season. I think its too late for anyt changes for LSU/Auburn.

Defense needs to come into the game with the same energy they bring in the second half. It pisses me off when some fans in the stadium were blaming the offense for the loss, but the defense gave up 17 points very easily.

I want to see a replay of Arenas punt return. Both watching in the stands and the replay on the Jumbotron it appeared his knee was not down. If it wasn't down that ref needs to be suspended a game, as all should, for his early whistle.

Agree. I dont think Bama will ever be down for a long time. They will be back next year. But there was one Bama fan who said they were good enough to be in the SEC title game?? Whatever the heck happened to that and who was it? I dont know who but I'm sure there were a couple of bama fans that were laughing at USC when we only beat them by 15. OK, most people had Bama going 7-5, with loses to Arky, UF, UT, LSU, and Auburn. So Bama should fire Shula for losing one game we were "supposed" to win? So should Auburn fire Tubberville for losing a game to Arky they were "supposed" win? How about Richt for losing a game they were "supposed" win vs Vabdy?

We can still win seven games. We just have to play our A+ game.

Um, Richt has now lost to Vandy AND Kentucky. You don't lose to the bottom feeders of the East, along with Tennessee and Florida.

You know, it's remarkable that they even beat SC, and that was just because Newton wasn't QB yet, or else them Dawgs would be 0-5 in the SEC East. Don't forget the barely wins against Ole Miss and a crappy Colorado team.

I'd be right in the middle of those guys.

But really, is anyone surprised? With the piss-poor play calling, involving close games between Vandy, DUKE, Ole Miss, and any other patsy we've played, we all knew this was bound to happen. But I would have rather lost to Duke than the fighting Croomies.

So what, your telling me we don't have ANYONE lined up behind Capps to come in? If not, hell put in a defensive lineman or a damn tight end. If we are lacking depth on the O-line there's another red x going on Shula for lack of recruiting. Andre Smith can't block everyone.

Kyle Tatum is just about as bad as Capps. We have YOUNG talent at OL. I think 5 out of our 6 signees from last year are redshirting, and Shula is not going to blow their redshirt seasons now.

I'll say it now: within two seasons we can have the best OL in the conference and could put lots of points up.

Part of the OL problem is the coach. He obviously isn't doing much cuz the O-line has sucked the past two years. They should be at least decent this year due to experience from last year.

I agree. Some people "in the know" at Bama say Shula will be making a change at OL next year, but they won't say exactly what it is.

Part of our problem is Fran. He signed one OL man in his final recruiting class.
