View Full Version : Can UK claw back to the top?
I'm curious if anyone feels that UK can claw its way back into the SEC elite this season.........I'm not overly confident.

I honestly don't think any team will be as dominant as UK has been in the past. I think UK will be competitive this year, but not dominant. I've got them as a NCAA bubble team, but it's quite possible that they could prove better than my prediction.

UK is hardly ever an NCAA bubble team. They will make it to the Dance. You can take that to the bank. Will they be dominant? No. Will they play for the SEC East crown? Yes. It will be like usual, with Florida and UK having the inside track to the East title. Tennessee will be in that mix most likely, too. Just my $.02. I'd say LSU and UF have the best shot at the overall championship, though.

I'm thinking FL/TN will be fighting for the East crown...and Kentucky will be securely ahead of Vandy but behind those two. I know Kentucky is "hardly ever" a bubble team, but they were only one game away last year, and lost a LOT of players. In my opinion, it's lookin' like a tough year for the 'Cats.

Hardly lost a lot of players. UK has Randolph Morris, Joe Crawford, Bobby Perry, and Ramel Bradley. We have size and plenty of experience. There's alot of off-court issues other than the Morris thing that you guys don't know about. The bottom line is Kentucky is looking extremely good in workouts and in the blue-white scrimmage. Tennessee....haha...they have no inside presence. Kentucky is definitely going to be back in fine form this season. As for the west....Alabama is going to be better than LSU. Take that to the bank.

So, you're not giving the defending eastern division champs and two-time conquerer of the mighty Gators any shot at all?

Tennessee and Florida should dominate the East, but Kentucky could very easily be up there challenging. In the West, I think it will also be a 3-way race, between LSU, Alabama, and Miss. State.
