Name some of the greatest fights in history:
I'll start it off with the greatest fight ever IMO
the Thrilla In Manilla (Ali/Frazier) or as Ali would say "the thrilla in manilla with the gorilla"

Man, I'm a HUGE Rocky fan, have been my whole life, but I'm not too sure about this new one. I thought the series really, really dropped off after the fourth movie, and I'm expecting 6 to be more like 5 than it is 1, 2, 3 or 4.
Man, so many, I'd have trouble putting them all in a historical perspective. I'm a big fan of Leonard/Hearns. Hearns/Hagler. I love the middleweights. Corrales/Castillo I was one of the best I've seen in a long time. Who could forget Tyson/Douglas? Holyfield/Foreman. Ali and Frazier's wars. The Morales/Barrera trilogy has been bloody and fantastic.
I might have to make several posts in this thread as I think of various fights I've seen. There's just so many.
Oh, and to be a homer, I really, really loved Taylor-Wright I. I thought that was a great fight. I like both of those guys though, so that's probably why.
Good thread TimNem.

I like Taylor and Wright too. Forgive my rustiness on current Pro Boxing but which one of the two are you being a homer to?

Corrales/Castillo #1 was a great fight, and I am still a little ticked off about that one. I like Corrales alot so nothing against him. I think I can answer your question for Jay and also would apply to me as well about being a homer, Taylor!!

No doubt about that Tim, Taylor is a class act. Good to see a guy like that in boxing, and I don't mean that as in there aren't many other classy guys around. Representing the state of Arkansas, we couldn't ask for a better person.

I think Miami .vs. Fla. Atlantic today is an instant classic. Especially #26 swinging his helmet!

HAHA, no kidding there. It was more like UFC though, could have swore I saw some kicks, ankle locks, and elbows out there also.

Anyone here old enough to remember a fighter by the name of Salvador Sanchez that was killed in a auto accident at the peak of his career? Man, what a fighter. I never seen him open his mouth to breath while in the ring. In such great shape he breath through his nose the whole fights. If I recall, he was a middle weight from South America somewhere. Just wondering
Oh yeah, I always thought Ali - Foreman fight in Africa was a classic.
