Well, looks like this season is an unofficial wash and it's time to look to the recruiting trail. So I ask does anyone know how solid our commitments are for the class of 2007? I have enclosed a link to the one I found that seems to be the most current. I'm glad to see a few offensive lineman listed but do you think we should be hitting the JC ranks or stay the course with the high school route?

I believe that Riley, Chambers, and Atterberry are waffling a little bit. Might need to hit the JC ranks for some DT with Heard and Robinson leaving this year.
Jazzmen Guy is a good pick up at DE.
Need to kill Sims and Holloway out of trouble since there are character issues with both of them. Keep them away from Level III and whatever bar Titus Brown got tazered in in Columbus.
Antwon Dixon isn't going to qualify.
I don't know much about the rest of what State needs or the current committments.
Stick to the HS ranks except for the immediate need. It will pay dividends in the long run.
The real question is if Mr. Croom will be at MSU in the immediate future.

No, the real question is whether Templeton or the new President of MSU, governing from lovely West Virginia half the time, have the stones to fire him.

okay , seriously if you could come up with a recruiting strategy for the current needs, how do you convince a QB to come to Starkville unless you have at least enough for a replacement offensive line? . . . guaranteed playing time . . LOL!!!

This is what my pitch would be....
"We really need you here at MSU. I believe that I can win here and in order to do that, I could use someone of your talents to assist me. Come to starkville and be a part of something magical for the first time in school history. Be a part of the team."
Honestly, MSU really doesn't have that much to offer right now because of Croom. He hasn't shown that he can play with the big boys yet and I really don't think he ever will. If you really want to see what we're talking about. Check out the "We need a new coaching staff" thread. We go into detail there.
