Of course, I think we should have sealed #2 in the rankings after Sat. Pennies for your thoughts...

I'll say #2 if we beat Auburn, but I say #3 right now.

#2...if we beat Auburn...it just solidifies the #2. I think Michigan is a good team...but UF has beaten UT, Bama and LSU...Michigan hasn't faced the competition UF has. That said, I really don't care...UF is only half-way through a grueling schedule...we still gotta go to Auburn next week...UGA in the WLOCP...USCe in the Swamp...and follow all that with a trip to Tallahassee...and don't forget, Vandy always plays us tough. Let's not count our chickens before they hatch...no pun USCe.;)

I hope Florida takes #2, they deserve it, but if USC can escape Cal/ND and UF can run the table they are going to get BCScrewed. USC was predicted to lose at least 2 of their remaining 3 "big" games, so who knows.

Guys the gators had a good day yesterday. But take in account LSU made some bonehead mistakes. Granted Florida took advantage of those errors. I have to agree with the other guy though, IM waiting putting UF at the #2 spot for another week. IM wanting to see what they do to a quailty team in Auburn. If they win, heck yeah they are #2.

As you guys know I think the SEC is tops in America. Although the past weeks scores doesn't reflect it, Southern Cal is a damn good squad like it or not. They open the season as you well know on the road at a tough SEC place to play. Granted home field at Fayettville the last few years isn't what it once were, it's getting there slowly. But with that, the 77.000 plus crown that packed into Donald W.Reynolds Razorback Stadium were loud and rockin the place. For a team that traveled from the west coast with new starters at key positions and a crop of new comers, that isn't easy to do. WHat I witness was amazing. They played three deep and never missed a beat. Put 50 points on the board and made it look easy in half number two.

These guys doesn't get caught up with media hype or polls. They go out and take care of business. Like it or not they are good and remember when you think back to the last two years what they did to SEC Arkansas putting up 70 and 50 points on the hogs in back to back years, Pete Carroll feels that he was look over by Frank Broyles during a open coaching job years ago. It has been said that if giving the chance, he was going to run it up and make his point known to Broyles. Look at the video, never once did Pete's teams take a knee against the hogs in those two meetings, while the next game against their oppoinent they did and have done so again.

Since the beating at the hands of USC the young hog team made a QB change and went on a four game run winning two at home and on the tough SEC road. With yesterday's win over #2 Auburn in their back yard maybe the young hogs are a bit better than folks once thought. And with that sports fans, take your hats off to the west coast Trojan's.They reload each year with some of the best talent in the nation and look to do so in years to come with that hotbed of talent.

SEC is king guys. But lets hand it to other teams outside our neighborhood when coaches can put together squads like Ohio State & Southern Cal, two teams that can rightly say that they could join the SEC tomorrow, play the schedule and be successful like our top teams.

Top Five

1 Ohio State
2 Southern Cal
3 Florida
4 Michigan
5 Notre Dame

Top Five Teams that are pissed off

if florida can get through their schedule undefeated and SoCal continues to struggle (even if they win), Florida will jump over them for #2. for all you conspiracy theorists out there, during the Cal/Ore game they were talking about how the SEC is far ahead of every other conference in the country.

EDIT: ignore my post. the gators are already #2.

What more do the gators have to prove? No doubt #2.

Better question: What has USC(w) done to deserve the #2 ranking? their time is running out IMHO.

Not to disagree with UF deserving #2, but USC has been a NC winner/contender for a few years now. Being runner up last year kinda gives them some respect in the polls automatically. That and they haven't lost yet this year.

So, if Auburn shows up next weekend and beats UF(which at this point I am hoping for, based on the fact we now have a fire lit under the team from this stinging loss); what happens to both teams?

Go Hogs

(1) I think Less-U's "struggles" were a result of our defense. Russell threw two INTs....and both were the result of great defensive plays by our secondary. We forced 5 TOs, just like last year, held them to under 100 yards on the ground and minus-10 yards in punt-return yards (!!!), moved the ball quite well all afternoon against the top-rated defense in the nation (any questions about the spread, now?). Most of their passing yards came underneath against cover-3 zone used to protect the long ball and preserve the lead near the end of the game. Sure, the tiggers hurt themselves with the dropped KR and PR plays, but we hurt ourselves, too, with all of the penalties. It could have been worse. We only gave up one sack against Pellini's vaunted defensive scheme, too. Tebow got the glory plays, but Leak was the key....he made the difficult throws against 8-man coverage. Mullen had a good gameplan, and Leak was dialed in from the first snap. Leak had his best game, imo.

(2) I disagree about USCW. They scored no more than 28 points against the "murderer's row" of Nebraska, Arizona, Washington, and Washington State (note: sarcasm). NU needed OT to beat Kansas, UW should have gotten one last toss into the endzone, and the Hogs just weren't ready that early in the season....let's see 'em try and stop the Jones/McFadden duo next week. USCW has given up 42 points in the last two games. They may be a solid team, but they're totally beatable, and I think Cal has a great shot at ending their run this year. ND, of course, may even be favored to do it.

If UF isn't #2, then it should be Michigan, imo.

1. Ohio State
2. Florida/Michigan
4. Southern California
5. West Virginia

i agree, uf or michigan. if both win out, it really doesnt matter b/c mich and ohio state will eliminate somebody, so uf steps in.

uscw cant keep riding the coat tails of the past 3 years. this is a different team and they should be ranked accordingly, which isnt a top 2 team. there are at least 3 teams in the nation that would beat them by 10 points or more. their O is not very good, no matter what they did the last few years.

My humble Top 5.

1. Ohio State - OSU looks powerful enough on both sides of the ball to be undefeated up until the Michigan game, that game will make or break both teams
2. Florida - Ruthless schedule, if the Gators survive and go undefeated and take the SEC crown then they get my #1 vote hands down.
3. Michigan - Wolverines look really dangerous thus far, the game against OSU will tell all.
4. USC - They may not look as strong as the '05 team but they manage to find ways to keep winning, weak conference also helps their cause.
5. Louisville - Louisville D looks really strong. I think they beat West Virginia on defense.

Don't think for one minute that the Gators are somehow unworthy due to the fact that ya'll got stomped in your own house.

...but I think the Frank Broyles Conspiracy has a little weight to it :scratch_h

Although the AU win was impressive, you would be foolish to assume that Southern Cal is better than Florida because USC destroyed the piggies two years in a row.

Arkansas was beat by USC, because Arkansas didn't show up to play in either of those games. They were beaten by the aura of USC.

Don't imply that they would do that to any SEC team this year because they wouldn't. I hope you guys weren't just lucky yeaterday and make it to ATL. SEC CG's that UF plays against Arkansas tend to turn into blowouts.

Good Ranking. I like everything you've said.

Especially Florida. I remember in the pre-season, Kirk Herbstreit (i think) said that Florida has one of the toughest scheduels in the nation, and there is basically no way they can come out of it undefeated.

It looks like, as of right now, they could do it. And I think if they do, I think they deserve a chance to go to the Championship.

Doesn't hurt that Tennessee lost to them by 1 point. lol.

Florida, in my opinion, should be ranked #2. I have no idea who the better team is because USC is still a great team (who I would rarely vote against in big games). All I know is, Florida (while deserving the #2 slot) still has a tough few weeks ahead. Auburn is still a great team, and don't count UGA out.

Watchout what you wish for. It's mouths like you that give your respected teams a bad name. USC is 4 and 0 against SEC teams with Carroll as head coach (AU//UA). Until someone beats them out of our conference you need to remain in your seat and remain calm. Keep you seatbelt on. Don't run your yap and give the gators a bad name. You guys are turning it around with Urban, but you still like us you need to take baby steps before your run your piehole like Auburn. Arkansas and Flordia are adjusting to new offensives schemes. Keep it shut and take care of your business at hand. And if you go unbeaten, your team may have a chance to back up all "YOUR" talk.
