Just heard that Coutu will miss the TN game. Apparently, he injured his right knee during practice today...Par for the course... :brick:

Atleast Andy Bailey is a "Nice" replacement for one of the best kickers in the country. Remember, Bailey was the first kicker to get a scholarship out of high school from UGA in a very long time. This still hurts though.

sok, how many schools are blessed to have a great backup like Andy Bailey waiting in the wings at such a specialized position? It's football, injuries are part of the game.

Maybe this is the kick in the ass the Dawgs need to produce on offense! I heard that the team is upbeat and promised Bailey that he will get plenty of PAT attempts...

Go Dawgs!! GATA

Go ahead and start it early boys....... drown your sorrows, our main offensive weapon is not playing in the biggest game of the year for us.

That really is a big loss for UGA. I know it's a kicker but he is so clutch for you guys its crazy. I didnt think UGA was going to win this game in the first place and this puts another set back. Good Luck though, there is never an easy win in the SEC.

Certainly, you guys should have a better feel for the impact that this has on the game more than I. However, reading the article, it doesn't seem that there's much of a drop-off to your second guy.
I guess he might be rusty, but he's got some past starts , too.
Anyway, I hope it doesn't play a part in determining the victor SAT

There isn't "that" much of a drop off. Coutu is clutch though. Bailey may have more talent kicking the ball but Coutu won the job because he has nerves of steel. Bailey is a big kid who can kick the ball a long ways. I wouldn't mind going to war with Bailey kicking but I would still take Coutu over him. We'll see if this plays a role in the outcome of the game.

AND the rest of the season.

(Coutu is gone for the rest of the year)

Oh woe is us............pfffffffffffft.

Now a Junior, Andy Bailey has toiled and sacrificed after losing the job, but the kid NEVER quit. Fwiw, Richt said he & Coutu are but a hair's width apart in distance and accuracy.

And Bailey won't have to fret kicking off as booming Ben Wilson is the designated guy. Depth is good when you have it where you need it! ;)

Did the MRI see a torn ACL or something? I don't think CMR is going to try some long ones with Bailey as he would with Coutu.

Good one, Colonel. ;)

Thanks Colonel, the whining on here was making me cringe. This was simply an act of fate giving Andy a second chance for glory.

Tough loss. He is so reliable when it comes time for a kick and some much needed points. Hopefully, Bailey will respond with some fire now that the job is his and not look over his shoulder any. We're gonna need some kicks from him tomorrow night.
