If SOS says the SN is our best chance at winning, he knows what we don't and sees what we can't. I hope that the OL can open some holes for the RB's, because Davis doesn't seem to have that extra oomph to make something out of nothing like Boyd does.

ANDERSON APOLOGIZES FOR PERFORMANCE: Freshman Garrett Anderson of Irmo, S.C. played nearly every snap at right guard Saturday night and, like everyone else on the offensive line, struggled to control Wofford's smaller but quicker defensive line.

Anderson attributed part of his problem to conditioning. As a result, he stayed after practice Monday night running sprints, including gassers (width of field) and a few 100-yard sprints.

"I know that one big problem during the game was I started to get tired," Anderson said. "I think that was because I've never played in a game before. I want to get better. I know if I want to compete out here I have to get a lot more conditioning in."

"I'm sorry for the fans. I'm really upset with the way I played," Anderson said. "Growing up around here, I want this program to be great. I got tired and that's all my fault. I'm sorry for anything I messed up during the game. I'm trying not to do that next week. I'm trying to do anything, whatever I can."

Anderson graduated from Dutch Fork High School in 2005 and was considered by some as the top offensive linemen in the state.

"I looked out at Rodney Paulk making an incredible hit on someone and I thought, 'I played against him last year,'" Anderson said.

Garrett Anderson is my new Hero. In this day and age of 18 year old kids telling us how incredible they are (Hear me Mr. Gray) it is nice to see this. He understands what it takes to compete. In Garrett's defense I have seen statements since he committed that he would like to Red Shirt. But we need him and he realizes he needs to get better. An apology from a player, how awesome.

I have said it before. I know the Anderson family and they are a class act. They have taken care of all the players, especially the freshman ones who sometimes get homesick. Here's to Garret having an outstanding career in the garnet and black!

I think that what SN did last year is enough for me to know that he is something special. I don't have any problem seeing Syvelle as our QB at all, and I don't see us having any trouble winning some big games as our leader.

He also would be a shoein for any "comeback player of the year" award. Imagine his intestinal fortitude in coming back from a ruptured achilles to being the starting QB. The man has what it takes.

Garrett Anderson shouldn't be apologizing. James Thompson should be. If he hadn't screwed up and gotten suspended, then Anderson probably wouldn't have had to play. Remember he wanted to redshirt this year. But thanks anyway Garrett, you have shown alot of character with your apology.

According to Spurrier today, we will see a combo Newton-Mitchell at QB. Cade is third string, and Smelley will probably apply for a medical redshirt.

So why is Jared Cook moving back to WR?? I hope with the weight he put on he can still run pretty fast. Also where is he going to be in the depth chart?? I'm sure he's behind Rice, McKinley and Brown. Also who is going to start at TE now??? That is one position we really need to improve on. We never get a good TE in recruting (I know we dont have a lot ot scholly's to go around but still.)

We need people on the line that can block and Cook wasn't that man.
