where do you rank Russell's career (his legacy) in LSU history? do you think he belongs there? he never won a MNC, do you hold that against him? i think he's one of the most prolific passers in LSU's history (someone will have to check the books, he may be already, or will be by season's end), one of the best leaders (not as good as mauk, but russels been with LSU longer). and one of the most athletic in the position.

i will put him as the second most important leader in the history of LSU football, behind cannon of course. russell has brought LSU from a cinderella national champion to a legitimate year in and year out contender for the SEC title and the national title. there's not a team in the nation who looks forward to playing LSU and i think Russell has much to do with that reputation.

I dont necessarily disagree but ask yourself this...

If he is so important to the history of our program, you'd think you could spell the man's name right.
