I actually feel sorry for the USC team.
Sometimes surgery is necessary to eliminate the disease.

Since the bouncer was a student at USC....I wonder how much pressure he was getting from fellow students to drop the charges.....hmmmm.

He wasn't getting much pressure. I can assure you of that. Most of the student body is against Blake Mitchell, and they were against him before all of this. I've always supported him as a player because not only is he one of our own, he happens to be our quarterback. However, I can't stand him as a person. Most of the student body would not have pressured the bouncer to drop the charges. Most of the student body can't stand him as a person or as a quarterback.

I don't know him as a person, but I know people who have had "experiences" with and around him. They all same the same thing. I agree with everything you have said here. I have a feeling he will not receive a warm welcome Saturday, uniform or not. I personally was hoping he would quit.

He'll self-destruct once he isn't playing. Imagine doing what he was doing (smoking, partying, fighting, etc) when he was number 1 and getting a chance of a lifetime? Now that he's riding the pine, I expect him to start feeling sorry for himself and totally going off the deep-end. Too bad for him and for us. I really wanted him to rise to the challenge. Oh well....Go Newton, Smelley, and Thompson.

I agree again. Spurrier himself said that may be why he was down there. Still no excuse, and he will self destruct. I just hope Spurrier rides his arse over this, and makes him earn his way, and not just let him come back into his starting position.
