View Full Version : Who Will Win: Tulane at Mississippi State?

I see five interesting games this week involving SEC teams, that could conceiveably go either way (LSU/Auburn, Arkansas/Vanderbilt, Ole Miss/Kentucky, Tulane/Mississippi State, and Florida/Tennessee).

Who do you THINK will win between........Tulane at Mississippi State?

All of this negativity surrounding Sylvester Croom is not good for the program. You would think this would be the week that MSU got it together but with all of the craziness going on down there I'm not so sure. With that being said I think MSU can win this without scoring on offense. Their defense pulls them through in this one 10-6.

Tulane is absolutely no good this year. I hope they prove me wrong, but the reality is that they're just not. RB Christian Ducre, probably their best recruit in a while transferred after Katrina. He was a beast and looked to pick up the program. I can't see Tulane doing much of anything against the MSU defense.

this is a dumb question, everyone knows that MSU and UofM is going to lose every game for the rest of the season, they all should just quit!!!

It will depend on who really wants to win. I just hope that MSU will finally get the scoring monkey off their backs. It will be quite demoralizing if the bulldogs get only a few fieldgoals.

We will win.

Nothing to brag about , but We (MSU) will win.

I think Tulane may win this game. I hope I'm wrong, but with all of this neg publicity surrounding Croom and company, I feel it will be a distraction.

Tulane 10
MSU 6

Turning point for coach Croom no doubt! I beleive that the DAWG's win this game and hopefully send the dark clouds out of Starkville. State is a proud program deeply rooted in the SEC. I give State fans as much hell as anybody but I respect everything that MSU stands for and know how much effort they put into their athletic programs.....GO STATE! GO STATE!

I think this weekend will be when the wheels finally fall off and MSU hits rock bottom;

13-10 Tulane, and the Depression begins in Starkville.

Wow I'm amazed at how much support Tulane is getting. The football program over there was in dire straits before Katrina. I just don't think that there is any way that they pull this one off, no matter what Neo says.

Have you been watching any of these games? MSU is just utterly BAD this season. As AUChamps put it, they will hit rock bottom this week.

You have coach Croom reaming the fans a new one and then you have the fans wanting to tear him a new one.

There is wayyy too much bad blood in Starkville right now. Tulane squeaks by in this one.

I wondered about this one for awhile since State is in such a state, but when I saw that Tulane got beat by Houston 45-7, I decided that MS had enough D to pull this one out.

Miss State's offense is just horrible, but thier defense is amazing. The defense only gave up as many points as they did because they were on the field the WHOLE game. South Caroline and Auburn arn't the cupcakes that Tulane has played I'm sure.

I'm guessing Miss State never has this game in doubt, and wins easily.

I LIke Miss. ST. to win. They have a good defence and that will more than take care of Tulane's offense. On the other hand, Tulane sucks on both sides of the ball. I like Miss. St. to win 21-0.

The offense is pretty bad, but you are right, their defense is amazing and when you're on the field for the entire game just about you get a bit worn down.

Miss. St. to win this one.

I have seen MSU play this year. I completely agree with you Neo. MSU is BAD. My point is that Tulane is just as bad. MSU's defense will suffocate Tulane. Their offense will get enough of a chance to score at least a field goal. I'm not saying that MSU wins because they are good. I'm saying that MSU wins because Tulane is so bad and MSU's defense will murder them.

But who knows you may be right... We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

I hear ya bro. We barely beat Wofford tonight and I've noticed that "Gene's Page" is about to blow up.

You ought to get your dawgs to come here since Gene likes banning people that says anything negative about the program.

Croom's speech after the game: he was saying that he was not happy with their first half defense (btw Tulane's rb almost had 200 rushing yrds. alone, against states "prolific defense) and, if Omar Conner had played at QB the entire game they may have won this one, the question that was the most interesting though was when they asked about the program and what will come of it, there was a lot of uh, um, uh, um, uh, um, uh, um's. Croom said that they will just have to keep their playmakers on the field and keep giving them the opps. and make the others work even harder. The whole interviemw seemed to go very quick.

Damn , that is right on the money. I didn't know that Gene was so well known , but it is true that if you tell the truth errr I mean you post something negative you might get banned.

Well I can tell you , I have to be very close to getting the boot there beacuse I love to tell it like it is.

Props to you NEO for calling this one as a Tulane win. I knew we were bad but I thought we could win this one in our sleep.

The worst has happened. The team is begining to quit on Croom because they do not believe in what he is doing. It is going to get worse before it gets better.

MSU has now hit rock bottom and is still digging away.

I was right on Ole Miss/Kentucky too.

Both programs need to reexam themselves and look at Southern Miss; who destroyed NC State today and most likely sealed Chuck Amato's fate.

As for "reexam" no. For Ole Miss I still feel they are on the right track. It takes more than one year and so many new players on the team still have to learn. Count them and then add to the mix that new offense is started as late as august. Def line is weaker than you estimated too. Too early to judge Ole Miss for now. I do understand we hoped the learning curve would be higher but this is the sec and all twelve teams know that.

I have to disagree with you bbqit, look at our team last year, we had guys that had played before and did not do s%$&, I myself hhave ran out of reason and excuses for this team, I have also lost hope, it is gonna take a huge upset for me to wake up again!!!
