I just got back home and I have not read any posts, so forgive me if this is redundant. I just want to make a few observations about our first home game:

1. The band needs to move back to the corner of the endzone. They could not be heard at all. We heard UGA's band loud and clear.

2. The ribbon boards look nice, but for crying out loud, how about a little less advertising and a little more connection to the game. I will not buy a croc or visit croc.com. About the only time the signs were connected to the game was on third down. If that is what we are going to do, why don't we just get the cheerleaders to start selling shoes or cars or chick fil a.

3. The decision to have one traffic lane moving away from the stadium in each direction added about 45 minutes to my trip in. All I could hear in the restroom before the game was how disgusted everyone was that it took so long to get there.

4. The new majorette is very good.

5. The new pre entrance stunk. We yelled GAME COCKS about twice before
the music on the loud speaker started playing. We did not get a chance to get going.

6. The students in the endzone have no class and should all be expelled. There is NEVER, I repeat NEVER be any reason to throw things on the field. Each one of those plays was reviewed. It is not worth someone getting hurt.

7. I think that our team must have spent the day drinking in the fair grounds with all the tailgaiters.

8. The stadium looks great.

9. I thought the jumbotron was going to be bigger. The clarity was very good however.

10.There were a lot of coeds dressed up last night. They looked great. I hope that we see more skirts, dresses, etc. and less t-shirts.

The stadium did look good last night, as for the pre-entrance; it did kinda suck but I don't think the crowd would have gotten all that loud last night anyway. It was a weird feeling in the stadium last night, kinda like everybody was hungover or something.

i may have to call them about the student entrance. it got so bad that about 10 minutes before kickoff (and right after i finally got through) they either opened up the alternate gate and just let everyone through without checking tickets or the students literally broke through the gate. there was plenty of shoving going on in the line and saw some claustrophobes crying. i love USC and i love Gamecock athletics, but it seems every redtape issue (such as how many gates should be open for students and how many ticket scanners should be available) the school seems to screw up quite badly. i'm only speaking from personal experience so hopefully i'm in the minority and other students have had generally better experiences with the administration.

if they're not going to open more gates they at least need to hire 3 more security officials to make sure that the students form a more organized line rather than a random mob trying to go through one gate.

And DP, I agree about the ribbon-boards and the new video screen. I believe the video screen is going to be moved to the new baseball stadium once that opens up so it makes sense it wouldn't be particularly large. Hopefully the next one will be. And while I agree with you that the ribbon-boards should have a lot more Gamecock content and less advertising, they are still pretty sweet and make the stadium appear significantly more modern.

I thought for the first time the WB looked like a real SEC stadium. I love the changes.
