I heard that game day will be shown at the USC vs. Nebraska game. Of all the possible match ups, this isn't even top 3.
Why not at:
LSU vs. Auburn
Tennessee vs. UF
ND vs. Michigan

-- ESPN hates the SEC.
ND vs. Michigan
-- The media's fixation with ND is only surpassed by it's obsession with USCW.

If ESPN gets any dumber and more prejudiced in their love for USC West, it would be hard to imagine. They seem to have a total aversion to the SEC and real football powerhouses.

I've heard that it is because Herbstriet now announces and the SEC games are on CBS. If this is true, the SEC won't get any conference games to be on Game Day. Which would really hurt, especially since we only seem to get about 30 seconds of air time to talk about the games.

Yeah ESPN is pretty much a total joke when it comes to college football.

GT Tiger is correct. With Herbstreit doing color commentary for ABC, Gameday will be at the ABC gamesite. That does eliminate Gameday being at any SEC schools by my assessment. Herbstriet is good, but the arrangement is pretty bad. Since he was calling the OSU/Texas game, Herbstreit couldn't even give a prediction on Gameday. For the show to be so focused on the "expert" predictions, having only Corso to give one on the "biggest" game of the day is pretty lame. Hopefully the stupidity of this arrangement will lead to a change in the not too distant future.

I'm not sure I understand the rule about him not being able to pick because he's announcing. What could he do from the booth to effect the outcome of a game? Is there a logical reason that I'm just missing or is it just another stupid college football rule like the new clock procedures?

If ESPN continues to ignore the SEC, let's start a campaign to send e-mails to their advertisers with our displeasure. We could make a difference if we got everyone to get involved.

Dude, Lowes kills Home Depot anyway....This might be off subject but I do a great deal of shopping at hardware stores and Lowes is byfar a better company.... This is an actual statement from a customer . I am not an actor..
Gameday at the Nebraska USC game, that sucks. No other game has more National Championship implications than LSU vs. Auburn.

Agree, Lowe's is better :biggin:.
It could be a good thing for Auburn. How many home teams win when Gameday comes to town? So far this year they are 0-2.

LSU vs Auburn is only for a potential spot in the NC game!! ESPN is stupid, stupid, stupid... I am having the hardest time even guessing who is going to win this game.

Good safe prediction can't argue with that can we! I hope Michigan beats ND so the world can see ND isn't worth a crap and Nebraska needs to blow USC out of the water! I also really think OSU might lose one this year to. I hoping we could get 3 SEC teams in the BCS that would show the true power of the SEC to the nation

Without the evident bias at ESPN, what right-thinking Gameday planner would pass up a clash between two top ten teams? ABC controls ESPN and Disney is the parent company, owner of both ABC and ESPN.

Our only fault is the SEC having TV Contracts with CBS and not ABC.
I hope in the coming years our TV Deals are on ABC, and we can let the ACC or Big 12 enjoy the ride on CBS.
I'm not happy with CBS for giving top billing to Tennessee-Florida this coming weekend. Have they not gotten the memo that the SEC West is the dominent part of the conference this coming week, and not the East?

Probably will be very few SEC Gamedays...ABC and ESPN are in bed together and will cover the west teams and ND...ND has a contract with ABC...right? So, most of the Gamedays will either be USCW or ND...sucks for sure!

off topic i know, but does anyone know what campuses the pictures are from on the ABC college football set? one of them looks very much like the Maxcy Monument on the USC horseshoe, but that would be quite odd since we probably haven't played on ABC since the Clemson game in 2000.
as for gameday, the way they've set it up the crew will always be at the ABC saturday night game venue. if enough people from outside the SEC start to dislike it as well, i'd imagine we'll see a change for next year or maybe even later in this season. it is not like anyone would really care if herbstreit was only part of the show via satellite. if there's no change then we'll all know where gameday is going to be long in advance and there won't be any point in worrying about it.

ND is a special case.
The ONLY College Football games NBC will cover is Notre Dame home games.
That's right, ND is so special for being Independent that the school can make its own TV Contract.

AND they get an automatic BCS bid for winning 9 games. Last year i think there were SEVERAL different teams that deserved to go to the BCS before ND.

in discussing this lets not forget that ND is in bed with the bcs also, so every game ND plays is a potential BCS buster, makes for a wonderful storyline for the networks. 2 losses and they are still all but gaurenteed a bcs bowl, thats the biggest crock of shit i've ever heard. i mean honestly, give me a break.

I lived in Fort Wayne for almost 3 years.
Between IU Fans with their Bob Knight Lovefest and Notre Dame Football, I could only help but feel for my Big 10 brothern at Purdue for putting up with these nimrods in their state.
I look at Purdue as being like Auburn or Clemson, and us Land-Grant Schools gotta look out for each other.

There is actually a rule against 3 teams from a single conference making the BCS. This could have come into play in 2003. If Texas hadn't lost to Arkansas at the beginning of the season, then they would have been in the BCS championship against Oklahoma. If this were to happen, then Kansas State would have been left out of the BCS even though they won the Big 12 Championship.
Would have been kind of wierd having 2 teams that couldn't win thier conference in the BCS championship game.

uhh, Clemson is more like Bama and ND than they are Purdue. clearly you've never heard a Clemson fan discuss the great Danny Ford and the 15 consecutive championships they would have won if he stuck around.

The best way to describe Clemson is that it's Auburn on a Lake. Both campuses are in a semi-rural setting, off I-85 near the Georgia state line, have Tigers as mascots, had John Heisman as a Football Coach, had or have Bowdens as Football Coaches, and have a deep rivalry with "The University". On a campus, city, and culture basis, West Lafayette, Clemson, and Auburn have far more in common with each other then their rivals in Bloomington, Columbia, and Tuscaloosa.
We're the "Cow College", and our rivals love to remind us of that until we start kicking their butt on the field.
