I was talking to my uncle on the way home from the game last night and we were talking about our QB play. I am thinking now that Mitchell has shown that he can't stay in a full game without getting hurt we are going to start working in Smelley. I can see Blake starting next week and getting pulled after we get up 2 scores. If Smelley comes out and performs I think he will get the nod for the FAU game. Blake has just started playing with itchy feet, of course if I had gotten knocked around like him I would be too. Smelley just looks to be a little more poised and a little more of a charismatic leader on the field.

I really don't think you can blame Blake. He didn't call the plays. He didn't come up with the game plan. All those three step drops and screens were drawn up during practice this week by Spurrier to help out the OL.
You guys need to bench #75, he got ate up all night long. His teammates were all over him on the sidelines when they were resting.
Smelley is going to be good, but you shouldn't blame Blake. He is good, but lacks that fire and passion needed from a good leader. He also has shaky confidence, but who wouldn't when your coach is having a hissy fit over everything done.

Spurrier said in his press conference last night that Smelley is probably going to start next week.

The only knock against Smelly right now is that he is young and inexperienced. We have two straight games for him to get experience. I look for him to start this week with a fairly small playbook. I am not sure if he will start against FLATL. Whoever starts against FLATL will start against Auburn.

Mitchell needs to take charge of the situation. Spurrier is pushing him to start standing up for himself, to grow up. Unfortunately, our QB is not mature enough for this level of play. He tries to please SOS, when SOS would probably love it if Mitchell yelled back and said shove it!, I'm doing it this way, not that.
Too many excuses, too much finger-pointing, too much whining and complaining. That goes for me and for Mitchell!
