...USC lost it!
Good Lord we had so many retarded mistakes it wasnt even funny. UGA looked great on the first few possessions, then USC started to even it out. But every time we did something good, we would do something HORRIBLE!
examples:
1 - 3rd and short and ball is snapped and Blake misses it, and loses 10. We settle for a 51 yd field goal attempt. It was a great kick, plenty of distance ..just hit the post. Most likely if we had been 10 yards closer that would have gone in, or maybe on 3rd we could have gotten a first.
2 - Blake runs for a 1st down at maybe the 30 and then instead of sliding he gets hit from behind and we lose the ball. That should have been at least 3 points as well.
3 - When on the 3 yd line, we tried to run the ball 4 plays in a row instead of trying to throw it up at least one time and get shut down on 4th when Blake fumbles again!!
4 - Smelley does a great job rushing the ball down the field, and once again inside the 10 we have problems putting it in, and resort to another 4th down try with a bad pass.
We really should have scored a TD once, and had 3 FG's.
I will say that the UGA freshman QB did a good job, and so did our freshman. That will keep things exciting for the next few years.
Both defenses did pretty well, we did get a few INT's and should have had 2 more...not that it would have changed the game that much.
Good luck to UGA for the rest of the season. Since I grew up in GA and almost went there for grad school...I like them too :)
I hope everyone recovers from their injuries...blake, sidney, and joe

Agree. We made some stupid mistakes, but Georgia did what it took to win and deserves the credit. Congrats to UGA for the win.

UGA Won that game fair and square. Don't get started with the "USC lost it".It's always the same thing every year. "We just didn't play a good game". Well, come better prepared next time then.
UGA had just as many mistakes as USC did tonight. Look at that play where USC's freshmen QB was in and on fourth down he threw it, hit Mr. Jarvis Jackson right in the hands and he should have went the distance for 6. I would have thought Stafford and the offense could have moved the ball more in the second half; I was wrong. But whatever, a W is a W.
What about that bonehead safety by USC! That turned the tide in UGA's favor...instead of giving up seven, we got two! haha

Yea...Brandon Miller also missed a sure interception in the endzone where had he caught it, would have taken it 100 yards. This is a two way street. The better team took advantage of the mistakes and won the game. Good luck the rest of the season.

Didn't UGA throw like 3 interceptions as well??
How did USC lose it. More like UGA allowed them to stay in the game. Good win.
Glad to see the "up and coming South Carolina Spurriers" do so well...

Glad to see the "up and coming South Carolina Spurriers" do so well...Freshmen quarterback making freshmen mistakes. USC lost the game because of mistakes that UGA exploited. The USC safety and then the Coutu field goal before halftime sure helped UGA.

Congrats to Georgia. My prediction was 19-17 USC. Georgia dominated the game from start to finish and we have a lesser team than we did last year, IMO. Mitchell should be benched and Smelley should be developed. The OL should be congratulated for doing a fine job. This defense played better than the offense but was on the field too long. Nonetheless, we looked like the young team that we are.
Delusions are now defined and we know what we have. Hopefully we will rebound. The only thing that will redeem this kind of loss would be to upset Auburn. With this team tonight, Auburn will beat us 49-3. We'll take 3 just to avoid a shut out. We could have scored tonight, but we were trying to get back into the game.
Mitchell has regressed and is worse than he's ever been IMO. He has no presence about him at all. He has no idea where to throw the ball and, as incredible as it may seem, has squandered his only chance to be a quality QB. I know there are those that will disagree with me, but he must sit down. We've given him 2 games to adjust. I'm not patient enough to give him any more chances. He has simply gotten worse. No, he has NOT improved, he has gotten worse. I don't think he has the mental capacity to learn our offense enough to know where everyone is on any given offensive play. At best, he's able to remember where 1 or 2 receivers may be. That's pathetic and won't cut it in the SEC.
My best wishes for the Bulldogs to win out. Stafford is an ACE and outplayed Tereshinski, IMO. He very well may win the NC for Georgia. It is a sad day to be a Gamecock, but I'll continue to follow and support our team. No doubt recruits that were there are wondering the same thing as I. But whatever happens, I'm a GamecockDiehard fan and always will be.
My crow has been eaten and it tastes awful.

I'm not even going to read the other posts in this thread because I'm sure the Georgia fans are having a field day on this post. This is ridiculous. We are not a good football team. We had plenty of chances. Georgia had plenty of chances. Georgia capitalized on more chances than Carolina did. Plain and simple; they beat us.
They are better than us. They are light years ahead of us. We have a long, long way to go, and Georgia needs to receive the credit they deserve. They won this game. We did not lose it.

I agree.
And this is the first time since '87 that a Spurrier-led team was shutout (Duke). Sure, there were some cock-n-flop mistakes, but a true shutout is all Georgia.

How bout them Dawgs!!! Great game to see in person. The crowd was electric. Please don't start with the USC gave it away and didn't play well.
UGA came to play. We made just as many mistakes as USC, we just capitalized on yours more. Our "D" came to play; your OL still can't block or protect well enough. And your "D" can't stop the run. I guess last week was just an illusion.
Don't blame Blake either. He doesn't call the plays, though he could have checked out of a few. Ol Steve has no one to blame but himself for the miserable offense.
I was sitting 5 rows back behind the USC bench. Steve was beside himself; reaming those boys a new one, I thought he was gonna lose it with Coach Hunt. He motioned to Steve to get out of here. Kinda funny. It was even better to see him on the Spurrier show this morning. He looked kinda ill. You can tell he really hates losing to GA. He doesn't have that same fire or hatred with other teams.
Looks like we have a Freshman plyaing QB for the rest of the year. HE looked good at times and bad on others, but what an arm. That pass to Massaquoi and the pass to Milner were lasers. He has to work on his touch.
USC's time will come. It just isn't this year like most fans were predicting.
Go Dawgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JT3 is out "4-6 weeks" with a high ankle sprain. My prediction is he is out for the rest of the season after Stafford gets his feet wet the next 2 games.
I like Joe and admire his knowledge of the system and maturity. You can see it in his check downs and audibles. But he lacks what Stafford has in athleticism. Just look at some of his videos on Youtube.
Good luck to the Gamecocks in their games vs. Tennessee and Florida. By golly, get it together before then, cause if there is one thing i hate worse than spurrier its a gator!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. A shutout is a shutout.
Fellow Carolina fans, no excuses, please. Let UGA take pride in the shutout. We sure as hell were taking pride in our's last week.
