28-17 over the Dolphins. The opening game of the season, and the Steeler season and home opener was won without the help of Ben Rothelisberger who was sidelined after recovering from appendix surgery (an appendectomy).

Ronnie Brown didn't put up huge numbers, but he did score both of the Dolphins TDs. Which is a good thing because he's on my fantasy team.

Pretty good football game for the first NFL game of the season. The game wasn't decided until mid-way through the 4th quarter and it was a good one to watch.

i gotta say i'm surprised the steelers were able to pull this one off. i thought for sure that Saban's D would win this one with Roethlisberger out. i was watching the highlights on SportsCenter last night and it looks like Saban got screwed on one of the TDs. the receiver clearly stepped out of bounds, but the refs called it a TD. Saban tried to challenge it and threw the red flag, but the ref didn't see it. the Steelers kicked the extra point and THEN the ref saw the flag. so he ruled that the play could not be reviewed. Saban looked pretty pissed in the press conference after the game.

I'm not 100% sure when he threw the red flag onto the field, but I was watching the game, and the announcers kept saying...."Saban needs to challenge it..... he stepped out of bounds before he scored... throw the flag....I'm surprised he isn't challenging it." Maybe the announcers just didn't see the flag on the field, but as I was watching the game, it led me to believe that Saban probably didn't throw the flag until right before they kicked the extra point. Who knows.......It could have been he was trying to decide whether or not to challenge it and waited until it was too late (right before the extra point attempt), or it could have been he tossed the flag on the field and no one saw it.
