View Full Version : 2006: USC vs. UF
I know it's really early, but I was curious what others thought about this game. Does anyone think that Spurrier will upset Meyer in the swamp this year?
If he could manage it last year, who's to say he couldn't this year? That has to be one of the most important games of the year to him.

A little bit too early for me.....I'm worried about UGA right now. But I guess as far as UF goes, anything can happen. But honestly I don't see us upsetting UF in the Swamp. But I haven't really thought about it much either, I just focus on one game at a time.

yeah its way too early. I wanna get through auburn, uga, ut arky and them before. Looking wayy too ahead of our selves here. I dont think we can win in the swamp this year. UF is too talented and I dont dont feel that we have the O-line and some parts of the defense ready to go into the swamp and win it.

I won't make a pick on the SC/FL game until we get a few more games under our belt (and Florida does as well). However, I will say that I believe we have a shot at pulling this game out. How much of a shot is still to be determined IMO.

If coaching alone could get the job done, I know Spurrier could do it. His talent and depth, however, have to be in question when compared to the Gators. South Carolina has the better coach; Florida has the better players. But, the desire to win in the old familiar Swamp has to be paramount in Spurrier's heart. If he can coach enough, inspire enough, challenge enough, the Gamecocks could come out of the Swamp with a victory. If it does happen, you can be sure that DisturbinUrban will be treading on thin ice from here on out. To lose to Spurs twice, with one being in the Swamp, would be more than Gator fans could bear.
If South Carolina beats either Georgia or Tennessee before they play Florida, they will certainly have my attention. It will make the Florida game huge.

Waaayyyyy to early to talk about this game...or even to think about considering who we have to play before then...basically the entire SEC Big Boy card! But I have to say, last season, everything had to work perfectly for USCE to win...the stars were aligned, the planets in equilibrium...they had to play a perfect game..and UF had to make plenty of mistakes...which all happend and USCE won...in WBS. Not saying USCE wasn't the better team...they were that day...but I just don't see it happening in the Swamp....the visor will hit the grass many times on that day in November...;)

I agree, too many factors will affect the outcome from now until then.
I've heard that over 350+ forms of the media has applied for press creds to that game.
