At last Saturday's game in Tiger Stadium, there were two very unquieting events that made a lot of people very mad.
First, the escalator on the East side broke about 40 minutes or so before game time, forcing thousands of fans to trek up the ramps. Not so bad if you are expecting to trek up the ramps, but after you have been standing in the escalator line for about 30 minutes before you find out that's what you need to do, it peeves you. I sent an e-mail to Skip Bertman and the chancellor and the director of the Tiger Athletic Foundation and to everyone else I thought should get it asking how the malls can operate escalators 7 days a week, 365 days a year without problems, and LSU can't operate an escalator for a few minutes 7 or 8 times a year.
Second, the UL-L band came with more members than they had seats for and the security personnel moved many LSU ticket holders from their seats to accommodate the UL-L band. I understand Bertman sent the ticketholders a letter of apology and a refund of the ticket price.
