It's Tuesday. So, it's time to look ahead to the biggest game of Saturday.

Ohio State made an impressive out of the gate start to the season with 3 TD's in the first Quarter alone. Two to Tedd Ginn, and 1 to reciever Gonzalez. But didn't score again until the second half, with 2 TD's. Troy Smith and Tedd Ginn, Jr., both early heisman candidates, are one of the deadliest tandems in college football. The offense is solid all around, but the defense is lacking, especially in the secondary. If they are going to hang with Texas, they need to improve their defensive scheme.

Texas scored a whopping 56 points against No. Texas, who scored only 7.
Colt McCoy, the new Texas wonder boy, passed for 178 yards and 3 TD's. He ran one in for a total of four. He was also 12-19 in passing. His presence on the team and among Longhorns fans was felt big time last Saturday. The Texas defense isn't too bad either and will probably be the biggest factor in Saturday's game.

Ohio State @ Texas should be one for the ages, as it was last year. The winner went on to win the NC, that would be Texas. Most are saying this game is a preview to the BCS National Championship game in January. Whoever wins here goes onto play for the NC.

I happend to agree. Either OSU follows up their 2002 undefeated NC season with another title, or Texas repeats as Champs. My guess would be that either team will take on WVU in the title game.

Prediction: 28 - 25, Texas over Ohio State.

Im with you no way Ohio State will be able to stock texas with their D, but will still be a very close game.

I have OSU by 4: 27-23.

Smith and Ginn outgun the 'Horns. Their defense should be enough against an inexperienced QB like McCoy.

I absolutely hate Ohio State. I hope that Texas kicks their butts. My prediction 31-28, Texas.

This is a tough one for me. I didn't see either play, just saw highlights. Sooo... I'm guessing here. It appears a very evenly matched contest. Giving the edge to Texas due to home field. TX 30 OSU 27

The classic matchup: a high caliber offense vs. a lights out, shut down defense. They say that defense wins championships. Have you watched last year's Rose Bowl and National Championship game between Texas and The University of Southern California? True, the Longhorns came up with a huge fourth down stop on the defensive side of the ball to put the ball back into the hands of Superman one last time. But no one will deny that the game, the night and, in fact, the entire season belonged to Vince Young. He was born for stardom and he achieved it for millions to see. Where, I ask, was this defense that wins championships? It was the bench, watching from that sideline colored burnt orange with the jerseys of Texas Longhorns. It is this defense that will take the field against Ohio State on Saturday night. Gone are superstars in the secondary, such as Michael Huff and Cedric Griffin. But what will return to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday night is the killer instinct and drive of the team that stopped Lendale White on 4th and short. The unit that achieved greatness last year will be the team's Vince Young this year. Texas will once again return to the spotlight to play for all of the glory. The road begins with an important and crushing victory over a highly touted squad from Ohio State. Texas will beat Ohio State.

Maybe.

But my money is on Troy Smith.

I hate both teams, but pulling for Ohio St. just because I don't like how Texas jumped that much. An SEC team would never have been able to make that leap. Thats Bull Sh*t

They moved one spot. Over a Notre Dame team who barely beat GT.

That didn't make any sense. They moved 1 spot up over a crappy and overrated Notre Dame team (ok they're not that bad, but still). See Tennessee's Preseason Ranking and compare it to their ranking now. That may help.
