Two Arkansas football players have quit the team and are planning to transfer to other schools after finding out that they were assigned to the scout team, which simulates the formations and plays of an upcoming opponent to provide Razorbacks with some expectation of what they will face. Wide receiver Cedric Logan, from Fayetteville, and tight end Marc Winston, a Little Rock Parkview graduate, both got their scholarship releases Monday from head football coach Houston Nutt.
"They came in and said, 'We just feel like we need to move on. We're not in the top two spots, we need to go,"' Nutt said. "They're both good kids, and I wish them the best." The two players said it was a coincidence that they both decided to leave at the same time, and that they had not made a joint decision to do so. Both said they had made no decision about where they might transfer.
