florida lost the starting guard for a few weeks. not good for a thin line. drew miller is moving from starting RT to guard to hold it down for a bit. freshman maurice hurt was moved to guard as well as freshman dt cory hobbs(whom is not expected to play, but adds depth).

here's a quick part:

Redshirt freshman Ronnie Wilson, a projected starter on the right side, had a broken left ankle that required a cast almost all the way up to his knee. He had surgery Saturday night and will not be back for the start of the season.

"I'm very confident our training staff will get him back as soon as they can," Meyer said. "It's going to be early in the season. So (Wilson needs to) drink lots of milk and get that thing ready."

If I were Wilson, I'd milk it until after 9/16. Let someone else get embarassed by Justin Harrell and make my returning debut against Kentucky

From what I'm hearing about your QB play thus far, we shouldn't have to score much...

ESPN went as far as calling this injury "a serious blow to the Gator's SEC title hopes".

I know...the guy was playing well and projected as a starter, but, he is a redshirt-freshman...I doubt our SEC title hopes were "hinged" on his play.

What'd you hear, GH? You talkin about that last scrimmage?

I heard that Ainge looks horrible....from a UT fan that was either there or knew someone that was there. He also said Ainge doesn't look to have improved any from last season and that Cut and Phil are "concerned".

I think he was 13 of 26 w/ 2 picks in the scrimmage. But , prior to that, I've been hearing that he's miles ahead of last year.

Anyway, I don't look for Cut to be leaving the game up to EA - It's gonna be the ol' "Pound the Rock" philosophy early in the season.

Well, I guarantee the injury will keep him out much longer than a "few weeks" as mentioned in the first post but if he's a redshirt freshman, someone else will step up.

4-6 is what they are saying, so i would classify that as a "few".

Let's hope he'll be back for our game. I don't want you to have any excuses (except the usual... "Leak had a bad day" "the spread is not quite refined for the SEC" "our O line is about a year away" "we've got some good running backs recruited" "Tebow will be perfect in DisturbinUrban's offense next year")

almost as hard as when a freshman qb(cant remember his name) walked into death valley(you know, the same place where lsu got beat by uab which also happens to be the place lsu fans constantly claim is the toughest to play) and stuck it to the eventual national champs.

now, losing at home to a freshman q is funny(almost as funny as blowing a 3 touchdown lead, once again at death valley, to a 5-6 tenn team in the second half).

man, that death valley must be really scary.. :boohoo:

Actually it is... it definitely would give the Swamp some competition. But in the end you're right. The Swamp would win and will win.

He didn't fracture the tibia or fibula...which would be considerably more serious...he fractured a smaller bone that just required a pin placement....they actually thought it was only a minor sprain because he was walking around on it. Good thing is, 3 freshman are now fighting over the position...so, we should be fine.

Dear, GH, do you not find it embarassing that with FLA's storied Football history that you can fit all their championship rings into a 4"X2" picture as displayed in your signature?

Besides, with the proper angle, at the proper distance, a person could fit almost anything in a 4X2 photo...except maybe a Fulmer family portrait!!!!

Now for the truth...When a UT fan asked about how the offense performed at the scrimmage, Jimmy Hyams (on 99.1 The Sports Animal) said that the scrimmage looked like more of last year. He said they don't need to hit the panic button unless Ainge performs similarly to Saturday's scrimmage. People are calling into some of these shows asking if they'll have better production out of Jonathan Crompton.

That's not a program that's profoundly on the rise. I see UT going 9-3 at the very best. I hope they go at least 8-4, b/c this gator loves to see Fulmer at the helm. At 7-5, he's gone.

Yeah, the scrimmage was not encouraging. But CUT is a helluva groomer - second only to , maybe, Spurrier.

As far as profoundly on the rise. We don't need any major improvement - just don't give the games away on a silver platter. We had to work hard to lose last year. ...

As far as Jimmy Hyams, I'm familiar w/ him, he criticized them all the way to the Nat'l Champ., too.

As far as Fulmer, he still got another free ride year, if he needs it. The Tenn fanbase is not as panicked as the rest of the world and media would like to paint us.
